🎵 A group of children. No shared language. One shared beat.

Meet TAMBUM—a collaborative electronic instrument designed to help children start making music together within minutes.

Built around five M5Stack Dials, TAMBUM allows four players to create rhythms, bass, chords, pads, and melodies through simple turning and tapping. A central controller keeps everyone in the same tempo and key, while the round table gives every child an equal place in the experience.

No complicated menus and no previous musical experience required. The project grew out of two years of workshops with children and teenagers in Berlin-Neukölln.

We first noticed TAMBUM through a five-star review and several fascinating photos shared on our website. After reaching out, we discovered the thoughtful story behind the project.

From kinematics to real robot motion! 🤖

On August 29, OpenELAB welcomed an engaged group of makers to Garching for our hands-on workshop, “From Kinematics to Motion: Hands-On Robotics with reBot Arm.”

Rather than simply introducing the reBot Arm, the workshop brought robot kinematics and control concepts into practice. Participants worked directly with the robot, explored different control workflows, tested movements, asked questions and exchanged ideas throughout the session.

What made the day special was the active participation—a room full of hands-on learning, experiments, discussions and collaboration.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the experience. Special thanks to Seeed Studio for the support, and to all the colleagues who helped make the workshop possible.

Three meetups. Two continents. One month. What a journey. 🌍

Over the past month, we’ve had the chance to meet the Dobot team three times across Germany and Shenzhen.

Every conversation brought new insights, new ideas, and a better understanding of the robotics ecosystem.

From technology and real-world applications to communities and future possibilities, we’ve learned a lot along the way.

Three meetings in a month, thousands of kilometers apart and we’re just getting started.

Looking forward to turning these conversations into deeper collaboration and building something meaningful together. 🤝🚀

What a weekend at Maker Faire Hannover! 🚀

Two days, countless conversations—and more robots, boards, mesh nodes, printers and project ideas than we could count.

At the OpenELAB booth, visitors got hands-on with robotic arms and a robot dog, explored Meshtastic and LoRa devices, discovered edge AI and embedded hardware, and checked out 3D printing and laser engraving up close. 🤖 📡 🖨️

But the best part wasn’t just the hardware. It was meeting so many makers, developers, students and families, hearing what you’re building and watching new ideas take shape right at the booth.

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, and to Seeed Studio , M5Stack , Lilygo , Heltec Automation , Elecrow , Hiwonder , Elephant Robotics , Dobot , ELEGOO , HeyGears , LaserPecker Global and all the other brands that helped make this weekend possible.
