One of our all-time best is the Gyraf Audio G10, a.k.a the GYRATEC X vari-mu compressor . The vari-mu principle was widely used in early broadcast limiter devices such as the Fairchild 670.

What's impressive about the G10 is how quickly you can find the exact optimal compression point for both channels using just one set of controls. A real gem with incredible sound.
