Ever wondered who works at Visometry? Makki Boukhris has been part of the team for over a year. Here, he shares how he joined Visometry, what his responsibilities are, and what makes the team so special. ☺️

1) How long have you been working at Visometry, and how did you end up there?

I have been working at Visometry since March 2025. I joined the company while pursuing my bachelor's degree in computer science and looking for an opportunity to gain more practical experience in software development. Visometry seemed like a great place to apply what I was learning at university while also learning from experienced developers.

2) What are your responsibilities at Visometry?

My main role at Visometry is as a developer. I support our marketing team whenever they have technical needs, for example by connecting different systems, automating workflows, or developing tools.
Recently, I also joined the User Focus team, where I have had the opportunity to work more hands-on with the actual product. In this role, I have helped improve automated testing processes to reduce manual effort and make workflows more efficient.
I enjoy this mix of software development and problem-solving because it allows me to see directly how my work supports other teams and contributes to the product itself.

3) What do you find exciting or impressive about Visometry?

What I find especially exciting about Visometry is the technology we are working with. The field of computer vision feels very innovative and future-oriented, and it has always fascinated me. It is impressive to see how advanced visual tracking and augmented reality technologies can be used in practical applications. Being part of a company that works on such solutions is very motivating for me.

4) What makes our team special to you?

For me, the team at Visometry is special because everyone is very kind, supportive, and open. I feel comfortable asking questions and learning from others, which is very important to me as a student and a young developer.

I also really appreciate the flexibility the team gives me regarding my studies. This makes it much easier to balance university and work.

5) What do you like to do in your free time?

Outside of work, I like to stay active and go to the gym regularly. It helps me clear my mind and maintain a good balance between work, studies, and personal life. When the weather is nice, I also enjoy visiting nearby places, spending time outdoors, and hiking. I find it relaxing to discover new areas and take a break from sitting in front of a computer.

Ever wondered who works at Visometry? Tomomi Niese has been part of the team for several years. Here, she shares how she joined Visometry, what her responsibilities are, and what makes the team so special. ☺️

1) How long have you been working at Visometry, and how did you end up there?

I’ve been working at Visometry since September 2024. While I was on parental leave, I was looking for a new job and happened to see on LinkedIn that Visometry was looking for an Office Manager. I had a good feeling about it because the job posting was a perfect fit for my professional experience, and I also saw exciting new challenges ahead of me. Plus, I was already familiar with Visometry because a friend of mine had been happily working there for a long time. ☺️

2) What are your responsibilities at Visometry?

I work as an Office Manager and have a wide range of responsibilities. From organizing and managing expenses for our many business trips to onboarding new employees and restocking the fruit basket, I handle whatever needs to be done. I enjoy the variety in my work and never get bored.

3) What do you find exciting or impressive about Visometry?

I’m always impressed that a small company from Darmstadt develops a product used all over the world. It’s exciting to see how the company is growing and how unexpected challenges keep arising.

4) What makes our team special to you?

I feel comfortable in our team every day because all my colleagues are very kind and respectful. Even though we’re growing quickly, we all know each other personally, and I think our work atmosphere is really great.

5) What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy being creative and doing artistic things. I like to sew simple children’s clothes for my little son, but also more elaborate items like Halloween costumes or a baby nest. Before he was born, we used to go to the theater very often because we love classical music. I used to study singing, and now I’m sort of a private singer and pianist for my son 😁

Are you familiar with the advantages of quality control using augmented reality (AR) compared to traditional measurement methods? 🧐

A major difference between AR and conventional measurement solutions lies in the setup: metrology systems often require a time-consuming preparation, especially when switching from one part to another. Software and device usage may also require special knowledge and experience to achieve reliable results. Moreover, these systems may have limited access to part details, especially when measuring large or complex components. Last but not least, metrology systems can be restrictive and bulky and may only be installed in specific areas with dedicated space.

In comparison, quality control with AR and Twyn runs on a tablet and can be used anywhere. No complex setup, file preparation, or dedicated space is required. AR superimposes the digital 3D CAD model directly onto the physical component. Deviations, missing holes, or incorrect positioning become immediately visible, significantly speeding up the quality control process. 💪

For many companies, Twyn is used as a solution for initial quality control: If deviations are detected with Twyn, the object can then be checked using a traditional metrology system. This way, companies can determine early on whether a component requires more time-consuming measurement or can be released for production directly after inspection with Twyn.
