As traffic volumes rise, urban ports are busier than ever. Fast, reliable logistics and coordination are critical. A new edge AI system from students at Spain's Polytechnic University of Valencia is designed to improve port access efficiency and prevent bottlenecks.

Built with 's ModelArts and MindSpore, Virtual Doors improves port access by coordinating gates and reducing waiting times. It uses computer vision and predictive analytics to detect vehicles, validate access data, and manage traffic flow.

At the Huawei 2025–2026 Global Final, the Virtual Doors team said it aims to scale the system across port cities worldwide. Built on Cloud and Huawei LLM models, the solution uses AI to guide users through interactive, voice-driven learning experiences. It enables virtual access to fragile and hard-to-reach archaeological sites while expanding global access to a local 12,000-year-old site.

The Huawei ICT Competition 2025-2026 Global Final Closing & Awards Ceremony has concluded in Shenzhen, bringing a record-breaking 10th edition of the talent showcase to an end. This year's competition attracted more than 220,000 university students and faculty members from over 2,000 tertiary institutions across more than 100 countries and regions, making it the largest edition in the competition's history.

After progressing through national and regional rounds, 177 teams from 49 countries and regions advanced to the Global Final to engage in intense competition across three major tracks (Practice, Innovation, and Programming), with 18 outstanding teams from 8 countries—China, Nigeria, Singapore, Algeria, Brazil, Egypt, Kenya, and Dominican Republic—being awarded the Grand Prize.
