🔍 Optimisation through detective work 🕵️
Production as a system is always in transition, and can adapt to changes in positive or negative ways. 🔄 Whenever bigger improvements need to be made, it’s worth bringing a familiar software provider on board. 💻 They know the operation, its structure and its possible cycle times. ⏱️ A thorough analysis on site identifies potential without prior assumptions. 🧠
This is not unlike detective work: 🕵️
Which products create the most manual time expenditure? ⌛
How is the material flow? 🔄🚚
Where is data transferred from the system onto paper? 💻📄
Which processes are managed outside of the software? 📊❌💾
This analysis provides the first starting points for further analysis. 🧭

Production can adapt to changes in negative or positive ways ⚙️. That’s why it’s all the more important to regularly review whether production capacities are still adequate for the usual order situation 📊. New coatings, larger glass dimensions or triple-insulating glass have changed the glass industry 🏭. An evaluation of orders in the last two to three years shows whether the target order situation still matches the current machine situation 🔍. Mismatches might occur if the machines were originally built to different specifications ⚠️. This can cause a system to become overloaded, while another might still have potential 💡. When all the data is available, discussions have been held and on-site analyses made, measures can be implemented ✅.

After an initial analysis by the software provider 💻, feedback is collected from employees, orders analysed 📦, databases evaluated 📊 and performance profiles compiled for the machines 🏭. It is also important to consider the upstream and downstream processes 🔄.
How do orders reach the company? 📩 How are quotations made 💬, and how is data collected? 📝
When information is transmitted manually, there is a higher error rate ⚠️, leading to incorrect processing or delays ⏱️. External signs often serve as clues 🕵️: when a text marker and paper is used in production 🖍️, it’s worth taking a closer look. 😊
