N3XTCODER

N3XTCODER N3XTCODER is more than code. We help to develop meaningful products in new ways.

We are living in an exciting time with the transforming power of technologies that fundamentally change our ways of thinking and behavior. Despite having these “exponential technologies” in our hands, we also need to acknowledge that we mostly failed using them to solve society’s most pressing needs! We feel very confident about the role of the technology (and the tech community) to address many o

f these social problems, disrupting the social sector for the better. N3XTCODER vision is to become the leading education and social innovation community for tomorrow’s generation of software developers. N3XTCODER mission is to give people the power to code by helping meaningful products to develop. In the first phase of N3XTCODER we start with a series of events showing the power and creativity of the most promising relationship between technology and social business

N3XTCODER is designed for people working in technology and those who want to start using it to disrupt things for the better; together with some of the most skilled people we know in the tech and social industry.

It's time to celebrate impact innovation!

Last weekend marked the 6th CASSINI Hackathon: a powerful platform leveraging EU open-source earth observation satellite data and space technology for humanitarian aid and international development. We brought together dozens of change-makers at the wonderful Deutsches Museum in Munich.

We were seven teams, 80+ professionals with a shared vision of creating high impact digital tools for a good cause. The results were nothing short of groundbreaking.

Congratulations to all participants who poured their skills and passion into tackling global challenges head-on. Your dedication is truly inspiring!

A special round of applause goes out to the winning team, CosmoCare! Their vision to leverage earth observation data for monitoring forced migratory flows within specific regions aims to help resource allocation in refugee camps, putting human well-being first.

It's no surprise our esteemed jury awarded them the first prize – closely followed by our other projects.

Because all teams delivered extraordinary work, with ConCast securing second place, estimating war-time population levels and migratory flows. HarvestHope, in third place, used for food supply and price forecasting based on yield prediction. Tremendous effort all around!

A heartfelt thanks to our partners and sponsors, including the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie, the WFP Innovation Accelerator, Munich, EUSI, German Aerospace Center, DLR, Google, Technische Universität München, WeAreDevelopers, and many more. Your support made this event possible, and together, we're creating a lasting impact.

Clarification: What we mean with the "potential of satellite data for good"

We've talked a lot about using data for a good cause, and now it's time to show you exactly what we mean.

With the 6th CASSINI Hackathon at Deutsches Museum less than 10 days ahead, we already have set up 3 projects for participation – initiated by the World Food Programme, the Environmental Justice Foundation Deutschland and others. They exemplify what we mean – from sustainable fishing to predicting food prices, and even population dynamics during crises.

Here are three ways you can support:

• Join us in Munich: Register to work on these projects or start your own. Your presence can make a substantial impact! Participate for free.
• Share your insights: Leave a comment or email us with valuable tips and tricks. Your input can be the key to success!
• Connect us: Introduce us to your colleagues and friends who can contribute their knowledge and skills. Your network and support can help us build stronger teams and create a more significant impact.

Let's work together to make a positive change!
