Piston engines are found in many applications: ships ๐Ÿšข, power generation โšก, off-highway transport ๐Ÿšœ, etc. Thus, even as the automotive industry shifts towards electric vehicles, pistons remain crucial. One of the key challenges for engineers is optimizing the thermal behavior of these engines ๐Ÿ”ง.

In this video, you'll see how piston cooling works: coolant is sprayed into a small channel within the piston head. As the coolant flows through, it absorbs heat and exits at a higher temperature. Computer simulations help engineers visualize this complex process, enabling them to design more effective cooling systems by analyzing local velocity and temperature data ๐Ÿ’ป๐Ÿ”.
