One team, two distances! 💪
On August 1, 25 Bonial colleagues took part in the adidas Runners City Night in Charlottenburg: 12 runners completed the 10 km race, while 13 joined the 5 km run.
With 12 different nationalities at the starting line, our team showed the power of diversity and a strong sense of community. 🌍
With great people, a fantastic atmosphere and lots of fun, it was a perfect running event to remember.
Well done, team! 🙌

Life at bonial: More than just a job! ✨

At bonial, we believe that a great workplace is built on support, flexibility, and a strong sense of community. From professional growth opportunities to wellbeing benefits, we make sure our team feels valued every step of the way. But don’t just take our word for it, here’s what one of our colleagues had to say:
"What I love about bonial is how truly inclusive and supportive it is. Whether it’s the flexibility to work from abroad, access to mental health support, or just grabbing a free lunch with colleagues on our rooftop terrace, there really is a real sense of community here. Plus, the strong feedback culture helps me grow both personally and professionally!"

And that’s just a glimpse of what we offer! From sustainability initiatives to social events and a modern office space, we’re always looking for ways to make work more meaningful.

Last month, our cmmrcl.ly colleagues headed to our Paris office for our first cmmrcl.ly - Bonial Offsite, and it was just great!

On the agenda: department updates, a look at Bonial 2030, workshops around the cmmrcl.ly products, and a great talk from Aïssatou Diallo (Snap Inc.).

And of course, when in Paris, you need to do the obligatory things like visiting the Eiffel Tower, taking a boat trip on the Seine, enjoying the amazing food, going to a Jazz bar, and enjoying the sunset from the terrace of the Bonial office! 😎

Big thanks to the whole French Bonial team for the warm hospitality. These seem to have been some three exceptional days! 🙌🇫🇷

Last month we welcomed the Berlin AWS User Group back to our office for an evening that honestly flew by way too fast.

Our colleague Paras kicked things off with a warm welcome, and then it was straight into three back-to-back sessions that kept everyone locked in:

🥇 Surjeet Singh Sachdeva shared the story behind his AWS Golden Jacket and all the certifications that came with it, but what really landed was the honesty about the mindset and consistency it actually takes to get there.
🔐 Alexey Grigorev walked us through a beautifully simple idea: programmatic access to AWS agents, triggered with a single tap. The kind of solution that makes you think "why doesn't everyone do it this way?"
🧠 Abdul Wahid closed with a deep dive into Human-in-the-Loop architecture on AWS Bedrock, built to detect fraudulent transactions with a confidence score. Full architecture, real insights, zero fluff.

The seats were full. The questions were good. The pizza was gone before we noticed. 🍕

50 people in one room. Zero boring small talk. 🎯

Two weeks ago, we hosted the 8th Marketing Meet & Mingle right here at bonial HQ, and it was exactly what a good evening in Berlin should feel like: sharp talks, real conversations, and the right people in the room.

Together with our co-hosts Digital Ideas, Swell, and gnarles media, we curated an evening for marketers, founders, and product people who actually want to exchange ideas, not just collect business cards.

Three talks set the tone:
🤖 Valentyna Koenig (Bonial) challenged the room with a critical take on AI in marketing. Refreshing honesty in a space full of hype.
✍️ Catharina Horn (Bonial) showed how AI is transforming the Magazine into a real multi-channel content engine. Concrete, practical, impressive.
📈 Ernest Ang (Travel Circus) made the case for CRM as a growth lever hiding in plain sight. One of those talks where people started nodding and didn't stop.

Maximum 50 people in the room by design. Because the best conversations happen when the guest list is curated, not just open.

Thanks to everyone who came, asked challenging questions, and stayed for just one more drink. 🥂
See you at Marketing Meet & Mingle #9.

250 people. 20+ projects. Zero laptops. 🌱

On June 18, more than 250 of us stepped away from our desks and into the city. For our 4th Sustainability Day, teams spread across Berlin to volunteer in 20+ social and environmental projects: supporting kindergartens, senior care homes, and refugee facilities, packing food donations at , tending urban gardens, and giving neglected neighbourhood spaces a proper makeover.

No laptops. No Slack. Just sleeves rolled up and real work done. 💪

One moment that stuck with us: .oltmann, district mayor of Tempelhof-Schöneberg, stopped by several project sites to personally thank the volunteers. That kind of recognition means a lot.

But honestly? The biggest thing about this day is what it does for us as a team. You get to work side by side with colleagues you'd never usually share a project with, and you see a completely different side of Berlin, and of each other.

We wrapped it up the only way that made sense: rooftop terrace, BBQ, and some seriously good mocktails and cocktails as the sun went down. 🍹🌇

Year four. Still one of our favourite days on the calendar. Thank you to every colleague who showed up, and to all the partner organisations who made this possible. 💚

Most companies push AI top-down. Here are the tools, now prove your productivity went up.
We went the other direction.

Instead of mandating adoption, we created a two-day hackathon where anyone, not just engineers, can pitch ideas, form teams around real problems from their daily work, and just build.

The ideas don't come from leadership. They come from the people who actually do the work:

🔁 Automating quality checks that used to eat hours
📋 Weekly market briefings that write themselves before customer calls
🔍 Knowledge hubs that make scattered know-how actually searchable

But building the tools is only half of it. The other half is making it feel safe to try in the first place.
That's what our AI Guild is for. They're in the room for both days, pairing with teams, unblocking people, and making sure no one is left figuring it out alone. Because "you're allowed to try" and "it's safe to try" are two very different things.

Things break. Some experiments go nowhere. That's the point. You don't learn to swim from the edge of the pool.

And here's the part we didn't expect: we never asked anyone to prove their productivity went up. But it does. Turns out, when people have real room to experiment, they go straight for the tasks they hate most. And when someone really hates a task... they automate it. 🤷
The gains show up on their own.

We're expanding this across every department this year, with a company-wide AI fair in November where each team shows what they built, what worked, and what didn't.

💡 A glimpse behind the scenes of tech – our Girls’Day at Bonial 🚀

On April 23, we welcomed curious students to our office to explore how diverse the tech world really is 🚀

After a relaxed start with breakfast, our colleagues from Software Development, Product Management, and UX Design shared insights into their daily work. The students got involved in a hands-on workshop and learned that tech is about much more than code, but can also be very creative, full of teamwork, and highly problem-solving.

After inspiring conversations and an office tour, this was a day full of open exchange and real connections.

We hope we encouraged them to follow their own path. Because visibility creates opportunities 💜

Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting our March .berlin meetup again at Bonial 🚀 This was our 3rd collaboration, and we always enjoy teaming up!
In case you didn't make it, here is what you missed 😉

✨ Almost 90 guests joined us for an evening full of learning, exchange, and great conversations
🍕 Over 50 pizzas were eaten (we did not count the drinks)

Huge thanks to our Team Lead Data Science & Engineering, Joerg, for doing the intro & welcome again 🫶

The night featured two amazing sessions:
💬 Ask the Career Coach - Live AMA with our co-organiser Valentina Scipione, sharing honest insights on navigating careers in tech
🐍 Solving real life problems with basic Python by Eric Rishmüller, showing how simple solutions can make a real impact

With also two lightning talks hosted by audience members, we covered everything from career questions to hands-on Python inspiration. We already look forward to the next event with the people from .berlin for an evening full of energy, curiosity, and community 💙

Thanks to everyone who joined us, see you at the next one! 🚀
