💚 Social belonging is a human need and according to Maslow, the third most important thing in our lives, after physiological and safety needs. This should also be considered in the workplace. Belonging will result in greater on-the-job effort and high employee performance. But it’s not only about appreciating an employee's work, you should really accept their uniqueness and even treasure it.

👥 If Employees don’t feel like part of the company, they’re more likely to be insecure about their place in the organization and feel less freedom to be their authentic selves. This will make them hide their unique characteristics and thereby undermines their performance, creativity, ability and willingness.

💡Here are 3 tips on how to ensure belonging at the workplace:

1.) Eliminate “outsiderness”: To be an outsider is personally painful and can also be a cognitive distraction. To avoid that, try to provide a supporting, understanding and trustful workplace in which individuality is noticed and valued
