Arles always reminds me why photography is, above all, about people.

A week filled with inspiring conversations, long walks through the streets, shared meals, exhibitions, books, laughter, and the privilege of spending time with friends who continue to challenge and inspire the way I see.

Yasuhiro Ogawa at photo basel 2026

Buchkunst Berlin is delighted to present works by the Japanese photographer Yasuhiro Ogawa at this year’s photo basel 2026.

Ogawa is one of the most important contemporary photographic voices in Japan. His work moves between landscape, memory, dream and abstraction. In his images, the visible world becomes something suspended and poetic: colour, light, mist, water, mountains and quiet gestures condense into atmospheric pictorial spaces of great calm and intensity.

Following our exhibition Yasuhiro Ogawa – Flowing in Berlin, we are presenting a selection of his works at photo basel, including images from several of his central bodies of work. Many of Ogawa’s photographs are created in Japan and combine a precise observation of nature with an almost painterly, atmospheric visual language.

We are looking forward to welcoming you 11th year - June 2026 at our booth #11 BUCHKUNST BERLIN gallery.
