🔗berlinisnot.de for  Salzburg. Volume 5 is explicitly aimed at those who first think of marzipan and nougat sweets when they hear Mozart. Prior knowledge, bank balance and social status play no role in this celebration of the arts.

Different theatre and music groups at former Stasi headquarters in Lichtenberg (Campus for Democracy) showed their thoughts, songs and plays.

OMG our new website is live! And yes, we had way too much fun making it.

Right from Home, a “talking” navigation guides you through our projects and everything else worth knowing. While our landing page already gives you a first look at some of our recent project highlights. On the Projects page you’ll find smooth image sliders and a filter system to browse through our colourful archive with ease.

What started as a “quick facelift” quickly spiralled into a digital playground, full of in-house experiments and delightfully time-consuming detours. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do!

Oh – and yes, our faces made it onto the website, too. A big shout-out to Waldemar Salesski for capturing our individual portraits.

Die Markthalle Neun ist Marktplatz, Produktionsort und Lernraum — ein Knotenpunkt für Handwerk und Kultur in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

Du willst wissen, was geht, wer heute da ist oder was es zum Mittag gibt? Unsere Mobile-First Website schafft Orientierung, sowohl bei der gezielten Einkaufsplanung als auch spontan zu Besuch. Schon auf der Startseite findet ihr tagesaktuelle Öffnungszeiten, das Mittagsangebot und den Kalender. Im Bereich „Neues aus der Halle“ bekommt ihr Nachbarschaftsgeflüster, lokale Neuigkeiten und Empfehlungen.

Unser visuelles Gestaltungsprinzip spiegelt die Atmosphäre der Markthalle wider: direkt, offen und mit Liebe zum Detail. In unseren Designprozess ist die von Daniel Wiesmann gestaltete visuelle Identität der Markthalle Neun eingeflossen. Aus dem Kiez ins Netz – wir danken Daniel, der uns als Sparring-Partner bestens unterstützt hat.

AI Anarchies is a fellowship programme, an autumn school, an exhibition and a book format, focussing on AI and ethics from artistic and scientific perspectives.

The AI Anarchies Book is a transdisciplinary collection of voices, stories and reflections on computation, art and activism. Highlighting the ways in which artistic research and aesthetic practices might challenge beliefs, histories and myths surrounding artificial intelligence.

The first part of the book is structured following the Autum School’s schedule including essays, artist’s contributions and workshop transcripts. The second part is comprised of texts written on the fellow’s artistic production. A comprehensive Visual Index contains image references and collaborative moments.

We’ve launched a new website for cultural journalist and film critic Silvia Posavec.

silviaposavec.ch features an intuitive filter system that allows users to effortlessly navigate between interviews, film critiques, and essay-like texts. Tailored to Silvia’s needs, our filter system also offers the option to view content as text-only or accompanied by images.

In the latter case, a smooth blur effect gently sharpens and softens the user’s lens focus, cinematically transitioning between scenes. A color scheme inspired by filmmaking color charts seamlessly guides users through Silvia’s archives, while Klim Type’s Signifier and Dinamo’s Monument Grotesk typefaces ensure readability — and, let’s just call it what it is: beauty.

“The tension of the Cold War was almost physically palpable.”

Mapping the Archive is now on display in the window of daadgalerie! The 5x4 meter map we designed stretches across the entire window front and, in combination with the website we built, forms a hybrid exhibition format.

Marked on the Berlin map are places of particular interest to the DAAD fellows during their stays in the 1980s and 1990s. The project explores the network of relationships discovered by the former fellows.

A map-based website as an interactive archive.

Our interactive website allows users to locate, contextualize, and explore historical and artistic documents, opening up a continuously growing network of digitized archival material. Through performative interventions and screenings, the website is regularly activated and translated into the current context.

The Mapping the Archive exhibition at daadgalerie is visible daily from 12 to 9 PM (from the outside). It includes audiovisual works by: Clemens Klopfenstein, David Lamelas, Stephen Dwoskin.
