Tech Tested's Push the Hardware Round 2 featuring the AMD Phenom II X4 940 BE was brutal.

Not alone got many hardware records literally pulverised, the HWBOT Hardware Rankings were given a solid push too.
Sadly the hardware fatality rate was pretty too high with a lot of processors and motherboards that went down while benching, this under extreme conditions.

Nevertheless the learning experience with fiddling around with AMD socket AM2+ ( for me my first time ) was quite fun...

Dutch Overclocker Bastiaan.NL teamed up once more with mr Tapakah; ruling again the ranking, claiming almost a flawless victory by winning 4 out of 5 stages.
Only TAGG from Austria was able to beat their PiFast score with a sick clocking 940 BE processor crunching numbers at a whopping 6300+MHz.

Congratz Bastiaan.nl, TAGG for being first runner-up and ShaggySVK securing the 3rd spot.

The freshly released Geekbench 7 from Primate Labs has now been added to the HWBOT Benchmark Suite.

It is available in the usual three categories:

Geekbench 7 – Single Core
Geekbench 7 – Multi Core
Geekbench 7 – Compute

These benchmarks are currently in Beta, allowing the HWBOT team to gather community feedback and evaluate real-world testing before finalizing their implementation.

One unfortunate limitation is that offline submissions are not supported in the free version of Geekbench 7, meaning benchmark results must be uploaded from your benching rig.

Canadian DDR5 overclocking Guru Saltycroissant raises the bar once more and sets the new World Record for memory speed at a blistering 6802MT/s with a single 24GB CORSAIR Vengeance LP DDR5 dimm

This score was set at the GIGABYTE OC Lab by using an Intel Arrow Lake Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU on an Z890 AORUS TACHYON Duo X Ice motherboard. Both CPU and memory were cooled by liquid nitrogen to reach this new milestone.

We assume more is to come as Saltycroissant already teased 6861MT/s... so 6900 by end of the year?

Greek Team Overclocked Gaming Systems - OGS keeps on ripping through the UL Benchmarks 3DMark suite and has been submitting some impressive World Records this week.

Their MSI Gaming RTX 5090 Lightning was heavily modified with an Xtal and Elmor Labs ECB allowing them to reach higher clock frequencies than on the out of the box card.

The afromentioned modfication also allowed them to bench even above 4000MHz GPU core speed in the GPUPI v3.3 - 32B, however that score was achieved on the GALAX OC Lab RTX5090D videocard.

To reach these insane clocks Extreme cooling had to be used to keep the videocard cool enough to remain stable when benchmarking.

Nice to see the brand new Bitspower power Strata LN2 GPU Pot handling the load of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX5090 core. The thermal paste of preference was Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut Extreme.

What are your personal thoughts on the oscilator/ECB modification that boosted the RTX5090 clocks way beyond nVIDIA specs?

Should HWBOT allow these super professional modifications? Or should we ban them ?

The current catch is that clock frequencies are not properly detected, so the run might look bugged for the given clocks.

bl4ckdot from France won the G.SKILL OC World Cup 2026 in a fierce battle against Russian overclocker Dim0n527 and two-time champion CENS from Germany.

For the final, the overclockers were allowed to pick their preferred benchmark. bl4ckdot chose 3D Evolve Benchmark, which was specially created for this OCWC event. CENS selected 7-ZIP, while Dim0n527 went with Y-Cruncher-5B.

Even though it was only his second time on the OCWC stage, bl4ckdot stayed remarkably calm and followed a clear strategy. He saved the memory frequency stage for the final hour, while the other two competitors focused on the remaining benchmarks.

CENS struggled to get strong efficiency in Evolve Benchmark on the Arrow Lake iGPU, and he also had major issues with the Y-Cruncher 5B C28 stage. Dim0n527's setup suffered too many boot issues near the end to improve his 7-ZIP or memory frequency scores enough to catch up with bl4ckdot.

It was a sensational Grand Final on Friday and a strong finish to another impressive OC World Cup 2026 event by G.SKILL and Intel.

A standout part of the competition was the sportsmanship on display, with competitors even exchanging personal hardware to keep each other's systems running - exactly how this kind of event should be.

Thanks to G.SKILL, Intel, Seasonic, Thermal Grizzly and Evolve Benchmark for making it happen.

Also a big thumbs up for the G.Skill crew that were once more perfect hosts for the judges and competitors 👌
