From 20–24 April, we welcomed our international distributors to our headquarters for a week of exchange, learning, and discussion.🥍

The REP Meeting included three days of training and two days of discussion focused on marketing, development, and sales. It was a valuable opportunity to share ideas, discuss current topics, and strengthen collaboration with our partners from around the world.

Software highlights included:
✅Training sessions on SoundPLANnoise, including the indoor noise module, aircraft noise, and handling large projects
✅A preview of SoundPLANnoise 9.2, with insights into the reworked noise allotment module and calculation kernel
✅A look ahead to SoundPLANmanda 2.0, including new features and user-driven requests

🔊 Introducing the SDE Standard - A Unified Approach To Noise Prediction Across Multiple Sound Systems🔊

Accurately predicting environmental noise has always been a challenge in the live event industry - until now. The SDE standard is a game-changer, providing a unified method and file format to ensure reliable, consistent, and comparable predictions across different acoustic modeling software.

That is the reason why industry-leading audio technology companies, L-Acoustics, and d&b audiotechnik have teamed up with SoundPLAN and developed the SDE (System Design Exchange).

What does this mean?
With SDE, system technicians can now export their designs from software like d&b’s ArrayCalc or L-Acoustics’ Soundvision as standardized SDE files. These can be seamlessly imported into environmental noise software, SoundPLANnoise, making calculations for festivals with multiple stages and different manufacturers' sound systems more accurate and efficient than ever before.

What a great few days at DAGA 2026 in Dresden!🎉

From 23–26 March, we had the pleasure of presenting our latest noise modelling solutions for renewables, regeneration and more at the International Congress Center Dresden. It was fantastic to connect with so many industry experts, partners, and researchers passionate about advancing acoustics and sustainable infrastructure.

At our stand, visitors explored latest innovations and developments about SoundPLANessential+, Sarooma 2.5.2, SoundPLANmanda for workplace noise mapping as well as a preview of the new version of SoundPLANnoise 9.2.

A big thank you to the organizers – the German Acoustical Society (DEGA), Dresden University of Technology (TU Dresden), and the Polish Acoustical Society – for hosting such a well-organized and inspiring event in Dresden.

We’re grateful for the many insightful conversations and look forward to continuing them beyond DAGA 2026!

Working with huge GeoTIFF files? We’ve got good news. 👀

Check out our latest video with another import format in version 9.1 in SoundPLANnoise. In the Geo-Database you can import LZW compressed GeoTIFFs! The import works as usual.

A LZW-compressed GeoTIFF uses LZW compression, a lossless method that reduces the file size without altering the data. All image information and georeferencing remain intact, but the file is smaller and requires less storage space.
