We at German IT Jobs want to help you succeed in Germany. Therefore we got in contact with a couple of developers who’ve made it and can give you another perspective on how to get the job done.
This month I want to introduce you to Oleg from Ukraine.

He is currently living in one of Germany’s best-known cities; Munich. With his wife and daughter, he made the move to come to Germany and pursue a career at a software company. We asked him about his motivations, for some insight into how to approach such a decision, and of course how he likes it in Germany, especially at his current employer.

Today we will have a look at Germany's city of the law, Karlsruhe.

Karlsruhe is a very southern city located some 50 minutes away from Stuttgart with roughly 300,000 inhabitants and is called “Stadt des Rechts” (the city of the law).

In Karlsruhe are located both the Bundesverfassungsgericht (Federal Constitutional Court) which is the highest court in Germany and also a constitutional body; and the Bundesgerichtshof (Federal Court of Justice) that preserves the unity of law and deals with legal errors. These are the top two of the most important courts in Germany.

Turns out there’s more to Karlsruhe than law and courts, it’s also home to a very nice yellow castle with acres and acres of green forest right at the heart of the city, a small botanic garden, an impressive natural history museum, a majestic art museum and one of the prettiest libraries in the region, the Badische Landesbibliothek Karlsruhe.

If you think Berlin is cool, hip, and laid back, you definitely don't know about HAMBURG.

The city of Hamburg has the reputation as Germany's Gateway to the World. Not only has it the country's biggest port and the second-busiest in Europe, it is also the hub for Germany's media companies, e-commerce powerhouses, and the online gaming industry.

Today I would like to introduce you to the great city of Leipzig.

Leipzig is a true marble in East Germany with beautiful architecture and just a few steps away from an exciting world of outdoor activities. Some call it „the New Berlin“, it definitely has a vibrant culture and is a playground for nomadic young creatives who have been displaced by the fast-gentrifying German capital. The metropolitan area is home to 2.25 million people and is focused on many technology-focused companies.

This week we dive a bit deeper into one of Germany's most iconic cities -> MUNICH

Most of you probably heard about the Oktoberfest, but this city has a lot more to offer than the yearly beer fest! Home of countless multinational corporations, Munich is known for its high standard of living, luxury, and so-called "Lebensfreude" (enjoyment of life)!

I myself was living there for a year and it was hands down, one of the most enjoyable cities I spent some time in. In the comments, you will find our open positions in this marvel of a city and I will post a teleport Link for you to check out some background information on it.

Let me know if this is helpful and what I can maybe answer you about Munich.

We take lessons in liveability from the winner of this year’s Monocle Quality of Life survey. Join us for a tour of the Bavarian capital, where we cover ever...

New Jobs in Stuttgart available!

Stuttgart, capital of southwest Germany’s Baden-Württemberg state, is known as a manufacturing hub. Mercedes-Benz and Porsche have headquarters and museums here. The city is filled with green spaces, which wrap around its center. Popular parks include the Schlossgarten, Rosensteinpark and Killesbergpark. Wilhelma, one of the largest zoos and botanical gardens in Europe, is just northeast of Rosenstein Castle.

An oldie, but still goldie!

Ever wondered why your CV gets rejected by German companies?

Germany, a country known for good engineering, beer, and lederhosen. If you google German stereotypes, you will find things like “Germans like to be punctual”, “Germans tend to be direct”, or “Germans love rules, organization, and structure” as well as “Germans know how to bake bread”. The last one has nothing to do with your application process, but it is still a nice fun fact. The other stereotypes, although, can explain the issues you are facing when applying for a job on the German job market. The following article will explain common pitfalls and issues when applying to German companies as a foreigner.

Hallo zusammen (Hello everyone),

When we started German IT Jobs, we wanted to simplify the recruiting process for software developers and help great talent to find career opportunities in Germany. Fortunately, the interest in local jobs is still high and we decided to tweak our service a bit in order to make it even easier for you to apply here in Germany.

What will change?

We partnered up directly with a couple of Application Tracking System (ATS) vendors and will connect you to the hiring companies without our interference. Therefore we will get rid of our own CV database and will terminate all our currently saved data. Our service to you will be mainly an information platform and we want to provide a community for you to exchange experiences with other like-minded individuals.

We will launch a monthly newsletter with currently hot and fresh open positions on our platform alongside lots of useful information for you to follow when applying here in Germany.
