The time has finally come! I’m thrilled to announce my next game for your Amiga (and modern systems): OPERATION BACKSTAB 😀

Two spies. One mission. Only one will make it out alive.

Berlin, the Cold War, the ’80s. Somewhere in a labyrinthine building, they lie - the top-secret documents! Two intelligence agencies want them, but only one can triumph. An agent from the East, an agent from the West, the same mission: Find the papers and get out. Whatever the cost!

With charming low-res pixel graphics, you’ll comb through a labyrinth of rooms, open cabinets, desks, and dressers - and ideally leave your opponent a little surprise along the way. Doors and furniture can be rigged with a whole arsenal of nasty traps. After all, nothing is more satisfying than watching your opponent walk right into your own bomb. But be careful: If you don’t remember where you placed your “surprises,” you’ll blow up faster than you’d like.
And what if the two agents happen to meet in the same room? Then it’s time for the submachine guns to do the talking!

A Retro Maze Bomber for Amiga and PC

The Steam version is a complete remake of the Amiga Version - not a “hidden emulator.” Still, I tried to make it as faithful a port as possible. A few advantages of this version: higher-quality music, online leaderboards, and an (optional) fancy CRT filter. 🙂

The game will also be released for all current consoles and iOS. The release isn’t far off.

Chris released the studio version of the Kaboomania title track on his Patreon account today - free for all subscribers - and once again emphasized how happy he is to be composing for the Amiga again after decades away 🙂: https://www.patreon.com/c/chris_huelsbeck/

There’s also a new - highly official - Huelsbeck CD planned featuring the game’s soundtrack. He’ll be composing studio versions of ALL the tracks specifically for this release. So there’s plenty in store for your ears. 😁
