Today we announced 2 new hardware control panels that are designed to access the full features of the ATEM Constellation HD and 4K switchers. The new ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 20 and 30 models feature the same elegant design as the 2 M/E and 4 M/E Advanced Panels, but in a small, compact size to fit into any broadcast studio space. The new 1 M/E panels include up to 3 system control LCDs, buttons for control of 4 upstream keyers, 4 downstream keyers and 4 M/E rows as well as a joystick, T-bar fader and more.

ATEM 1 M/E Advanced Panel 20 and 30 will be demonstrated on the Blackmagic Design IBC booth #7.C49 will be available in October from Blackmagic Design resellers from US$3,899.

Today we announced Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K G2, a next generation model of the popular Blackmagic Micro Studio Camera 4K and a perfect solution for placing cameras on set when you don't have space for regular sized cameras! It includes the popular MFT lens mount, very low light 4K image sensor and cinematic color science! So it's small, but has the features of a full sized studio camera! You also get 12G-SDI for HD and Ultra HD operation up to 2160p60. It's also possible to control the built in color corrector and lens using the SDI and HDMI connections. Today we released public beta 3 of Fusion Studio 18.5 which adds additional improvements to the the Fusion public beta including updates to multimerge features, such as an option to automatically name layers based on the input tool, the ability to multi select and delete layers from the multimerge inspector and easier management of large layer counts.

The update also supports improved support for USD memory management, as well as support for Blackmagic film color spaces. This means that DaVinci Resolve’s color management now supports all Blackmagic camera color spaces and Blackmagic RAW SDK 3.1. Public beta 3 also includes general performance and stability improvements.

Today we released public beta 3 of DaVinci Resolve 18.5 which adds additional improvements to the DaVinci public beta including improved padding for subtitle backgrounds, as well as multiple improvements to Fusion’s multimerge tools. This includes improved display of large multi layer inputs and the ability to show the input names, making it easier to see and manage all of the inputs to the multimerge node. Additionally, multimerge nodes can now animate the layer state so you can turn effects on or off with keyframe control. You also have the ability to multi select and delete layers from the multimerge inspector. Universal Scene Descriptor, FBX and Alembic assets can now be relinked, replaced and revealed in the media pool and included in project archives making them easier to manage in DaVinci Resolve.

DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.5 public beta 3 also adds support for the new Blackmagic RAW SDK 3.1 and support for all Blackmagic camera color spaces in Fusion.

DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.5 beta 3 also adds a number of improvements to beta 2 release features for text based editing. These include automatic language detection, and expansion of language transcription to include 14 additional languages such as Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish and auto subtitling. Public beta 3 also adds support for editing and deletion of generated text, support for silent segment detection and display, with the ability to remove silent segments from transcribed text, plus the ability for words and paragraphs to be highlighted and deleted. Searching for specific content via text based editing saves hours of searching through video content looking for a single shot.

There are also a number of bug fixes and scripting API improvements as well as general performance and stability improvements.

Today we released Blackmagic Video Assist 3.10 update which adds support for Blackmagic RAW recording from Panasonic Lumix S5II and S5IIX cameras to Video Assist 5” and 7” 12G HDR models. When recording Blackmagic RAW with Video Assist 12G HDR, you can also save the camera’s settings in metadata. This means the white balance and exposure are encoded into the file to be read by DaVinci Resolve, however you can also override these settings later in the RAW settings palette when color correcting.
