🤖AI and IoT skills aren't just for tech companies.

What can a hospital learn from smart building data? How can a hotel, construction company or shipping business make better use of sensors and AI?

These were some of the ideas explored during the second run of our HRDA (Αρχή Ανάπτυξης Ανθρώπινου Δυναμικού Κύπρου - ΑνΑΔ) vital importance seminar, Harnessing AI and IoT for Sustainable Environments and Smart Operations Management, held in Platres on 24–25 October.

We welcomed 23 professionals from 16 organisations, representing sectors ranging from healthcare and hospitality to shipping, construction, research and education.

The hands-on training focused on practical skills that apply across industries: setting thresholds and alerts, keeping evidence through logs, testing scenarios, checking results and questioning AI-generated claims.

We also discussed the latest changes to the EU AI Act and what they mean for smaller organisations.

A key takeaway? Technology creates opportunities, but people need the skills to use it responsibly and effectively.

A big thank you to all participants, HRDA, Frederick University 's Training and Certification Centre and Pendeli Resort for making this seminar a success!
