Vasilopita, pronounced vah-see-LO-pee-tah, is the Greek lucky new year’s cake that has a coin/lucky charm hidden in it and is cut at each house. It is tradition for each family to have their own vasilopita and a piece is cut for each family member. If the coin is in your piece you supposedly have good luck for the rest of the year.
Following this tradition, we, at the Monarch family, cut our Vasilopita, for the new year, wishing and hoping for a Happy new Year, with health and prosperity for our members and for all the world! The lucky winner of this year’s pita, is our beloved Baret Kouyoumdjian, who found the coin at his piece. It was literally a piece of cake!
Of course, we were not able to be in full house, as for lockdown reasons, some of our members are sparse in different parts of the world, but don’t worry guys, we ate your pieces of cake which was amazingly tasty!
