In a year of using the Dome complex with NtechLab recognition technologies, there has been a strong trend in crime reduction. Anapa, a popular Russian resort which annually hosts up to 5 million tourists, was able to markedly increase the level of safety and comfort for both residents and vacationers.

"The facial recognition system provides invaluable assistance to law enforcement," said Anapa Mayor Vasily Shvets.

Intelligent video surveillance complex covers the beach area, as well as educational, cultural, and sports facilities. This allows not only responding quickly to incidents, but also working with the general improvement: prevent traffic jams, track down lost children, control fires, deal with illegal trade, spontaneous dumps, and other violations.

The success of Anapa inspired other resort centers. Currently, the hardware and software video surveillance complex has already begun to roll out in Sochi, the host city of the 2014 Winter Olympics.

A man was arrested in Brazil for using customers' photos to bypass the facial recognition login in a mobile banking app. He allegedly used the pictures to gain access to their accounts and obtain loans, reported the Daily Mail.

The majority of modern facial recognition technology incorporates anti-spoofing or liveness detection systems. A liveness detection system is a technology designed to verify that a biometric sample, such as a facial image, is obtained from a living person and not from a spoofed or fake source.

Active liveness systems require the user to perform an action, such as blinking or smiling, to verify their identity. Passive liveness systems, on the other hand, use advanced technology to detect signs of life without requiring any action from the user.

The global testing hub for liveness detection systems is iBeta lab. They evaluate the systems' effectiveness in preventing various forms of spoofing, including videos, photos, 2D masks, and 3D masks, whether they are printed or made with lifelike material.

NtechLab’s facial recognition technology has cleared all tests conducted by iBeta lab with the highest accuracy and a zero-error rate.

In April, our company took part in the Days of Moscow in Bangkok. Nikolai Shiryaev, manager of NtechLab business development in South-East Asia, spoke to the participants of the forum business program and presented our video analytics solutions. Nikolai's presentation aroused great interest — we continued to communicate with some potential customers and partners.

The forum hosted an introduction to the governor and vice-governor of Bangkok and a discussion on the challenges of implementing smart city solutions. And one of the largest telecom corporations in Thailand invited us to discuss possible areas of partnership.

Immediately after the event in Bangkok, Nikolai left for the capital of Vietnam. In Hanoi, he attended a meeting of the Russian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum, where he joined a roundtable on IT.

In the minutes of the Intergovernmental Commission meeting, we confirmed our intention to enter the Vietnamese market and share our experience with local customers. The document was signed by the deputy prime ministers of Russia and Vietnam.

Last week, NtechLab had the honor to present at the third Edo Mex C5 Congress, organized by the State of Mexico and the C5 emergency center which develops the Safe City program in the state.

We appreciate the invitation from the congress organizers, it was an exciting event and a great opportunity to meet public safety professionals, show our platform and its capabilities, and discuss the latest trends in video analytics.

We have been very pleased to welcome some high-ranking guests at our booth, as well as other professionals responsible for crime prevention and investigation. Their genuine interest in video analytics software use for responding to public safety challenges makes us optimistic.

We expect that the negotiations and discussions at the congress will grow to a rewarding collaboration with public sector customers in Mexico.

People with mental disorders often perform very well at IT work and hiring them helps companies respond to their manpower challenges.

NtechLab’s inclusive employment project started in 2022, and after a trial period a person with autism spectrum disorder joined us in the data labeling department as a full-time employee. In addition, we launched our own data labeling course for people with autism, by now successfully completed by 25 people.

We are looking for partners in Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia to share our experience with AI companies that have their own data labeling teams or data labeling firms. We believe in an inclusion project to support autistic people that we can develop together.

We are proud to share some great news with you. NtechLab’s Liveness identity fraud prevention technology has once again proved its high security and passed PAD (Presentation Attack Detection) Level 2 testing at the reputable iBeta Quality Assurance laboratory.

During the test our algorithm successfully resisted various forms of spoofing with the presentation of video, photos, two- and three-dimensional masks and distinguished a fake from a real person, showing a zero-error rate, this confirming compliance with ISO/IEC 30107-1 and ISO/IEC 30107-3 standards.

The approval of the security of our facial recognition technology by an independent lab demonstrates excellent prospects for its usage in areas where reliable identity verification is critical - government electronic services, transaction processing, biometric payment, and automated border control.
