On 2–3 July 2026, the GENIUS consortium gathered in Aveiro, Portugal, for the project's Kick-Off Meeting, marking the start of an exciting journey towards the future of 6G-enabled connected and automated transportation and logistics.
During two productive days, partners aligned on the project vision, technical roadmap, use cases, and implementation strategy, while exploring demonstrations of the baseline testbeds that will support the development and validation of the GENIUS innovations.
GENIUS will address a diverse range of use cases across road, air, maritime, and multimodal transport, including UAV-assisted transport of medical samples, automated airport baggage handling, smart apron operations, maritime port logistics, and edge-assisted autonomous driving.
Within the project, eBOS will contribute to both the technical and strategic dimensions by leading the definition of the project requirements, architecture, KPIs/KVIs, and communication, dissemination, exploitation, and business modelling activities. Technically, eBOS will develop three AI-driven security assets: an AI/ML-based anomaly and threat detection engine, an AI-based decision engine for threat mitigation, and an AI-driven Software-Defined Perimeter (SDP) for secure and adaptive access management.
Together, the consortium is working towards delivering innovative 6G, AI, edge computing, and cybersecurity solutions that will enable safer, smarter, and more sustainable transportation and logistics ecosystems
