For Cleavion, returning to Curaçao after completing his Master’s in the Netherlands was always the idea. Before moving abroad, he had already started his journey at Sentoo. While studying in the Netherlands, he continued working part-time for the company, balancing deadlines, responsibilities, and university life. “Balancing both work and studies abroad was challenging and required a great deal of time management, discipline, and responsibility,” he says. “It taught me how to stay organized, work carefully under pressure, and manage multiple priorities at once.”

After graduating, continuing his journey at Sentoo felt like a natural next step. “I learned a lot at Sentoo and felt I could make a direct impact within the company, which I truly value in my work.” Today, as a Business Development & Product Specialist, he works closely with international platforms and partners, helping build relationships that continue to expand Sentoo’s network across the region and beyond.

What excites him most is representing a Curaçao-based company on an international level. “I enjoy introducing them to what Sentoo does and seeing their positive reactions when they learn that we are based on a small island like Curaçao,” he says. “It makes me proud to be part of the team.” For Cleavion, the best part is that no two days are ever the same. “Each partner and platform presents different challenges. I do not like a work routine that feels like it’s the same every day.”

“Bloom Cafe was created to feel warm, familiar, and easy to return to,” Rebecca and Ricky Maduro explain. “We wanted people to walk in and immediately feel comfortable, almost like they’re visiting a place that already feels a little like home.”

Tucked away inside Fantastic Gardens in Aruba, Bloom Café grew naturally from the siblings’ love for homemade food, baking, flowers, and peaceful spaces. Surrounded by the greenery of the garden center they grew up around, the idea slowly came together: a cozy café where people could slow down to enjoy something made with care and escape the rush of everyday life for a little while.

Over time, that feeling of comfort turned Bloom into a local favorite. Families gather over coffee, elderly guests stop by for their usual orders, and regulars return every Saturday for Ricky’s homemade beef soup and garlic hot sauce, recipes many customers now associate with comfort and routine.

“What keeps us motivated is seeing people make Bloom part of their daily lives,” they share. “When customers come back regularly for their favorite dessert or coffee, it reminds us why we do what we do.”

That same simplicity and ease also shaped the way they approached payments. “What stood out to us about Sentoo was how easy it is,” they say. “Customers can simply scan a QR code and pay directly from their phone. It keeps things flowing smoothly, especially during busy moments.”

For Rebecca and Ricky, the goal moving forward is simple: continue growing while protecting the cozy atmosphere that made Bloom what it is today. “Most of all,” they say, “we want people to experience the warm, familiar feeling that makes Bloom feel like a little home away from home.”

Four students from Maria Immaculata Lyceum (MIL) swapped the classroom for a day at Sentoo during their “snuffelstage,” getting a little sneak peek into the world of tech and fintech.

From an office tour and team conversations to questions about IT, creativity, and working in technology, the students got a behind-the-scenes look at what happens inside a local fintech company. We even wrapped up the day with a small challenge to put their teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test.

Who knows… maybe we just met a few future Caribbean tech professionals in the making.
