As 2025 wraps up, we’re celebrating the people behind the work: a team that shows up with heart and creativity, every day.

This year stretched us, inspired us, and reminded us that great things happen when talented humans move together with a shared purpose.

Our office will be closed from 25 December to 7 January while we rest, recharge, and soak up the season.

We’ll be back, ready to stride into 2026 with fresh ideas, clear focus, and even more momentum.

What does the fight for human rights look like in policy halls, in courtrooms, in communities across the globe?

's 2024 Annual Report answers that question.

This past year:

✔️ GANHRI secured a historic UN Human Rights Council resolution to fund the accreditation process.

✔️ NHRI voices were heard at COP29, the UN Summit of the Future, and for the first time, formally participated in the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

✔️ A global Indigenous Peoples’ Caucus was launched with 22 NHRIs.

✔️ 20+ events convened human rights defenders to address the climate crisis, democratic backsliding, and threats to civic space.

We partnered with GANHRI to design an Annual Report with bold, confident branding, human-centred photography, and a modern, accessible layout that reflects a global mission.

Congratulations to GANHRI on a landmark year. We’re proud to have helped tell that story.

Why are so many young workers still getting hurt on the job, and what can we do about it?

Through the International Labor Organization's SafeYouth@Work project, young people around the world gain the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe in high-risk workplaces.

We were proud to help bring this mission to life by creating a full suite of multilingual communications and learning materials designed to engage, inspire, and empower young workers.

Delivered in English, Spanish, and French, these resources amplified the project’s achievements and extended its impact far beyond its timeline.

How do you get the world to care about saving the ocean?

By starting with the people whose lives depend on it.

For World Oceans Day, we partnered with Green Climate Fund (GCF) to turn policy into personal stories and climate finance into a human movement.

Through real voices, fluid visuals, and stories from the frontlines of climate change, we brought GCF’s mission to life.

“This project was a balancing act between staying true to real-world stories and adding an expressive, creative layer. Watercolor felt like the perfect visual metaphor — fluid, vibrant, and directly connected to the theme of water,” says our Creative Director, Aleksandar Subašić.

Big news: Future by Design is proud to join the United Nations Global Compact.

Our values have always been clear: sustainable development, gender equality, and diversity are at the heart of everything we do.

When we started, we weren’t yet eligible for membership. But everything we’ve built since, through our work and our partnerships, has brought us to this moment.

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It calls on businesses to:

✔️ Align their strategies with the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption

✔️ Take action in support of the Sustainable Development Goals

Meet Aleksandar Subašić, our talented Creative Director at Future by Design.

With over a decade of multidisciplinary design experience, Aleksandar brings a sharp eye for visual storytelling and brand direction. He has a real knack for identifying creative trends early, often spotting ideas before they become widely embraced.

At FBD, Aleksandar has shaped some of our most distinctive work, ensuring our campaigns stand out with clear, engaging, and memorable design.

Recently, he led the creative direction for our ocean-themed campaign with the Green Climate Fund, crafting a multi-platform storytelling approach that combined real-world imagery with expressive illustration.

He also led the animation for our Forestry Stewardship Council Principles & Criteria explainer series, transforming complex forestry standards into accessible, visually rich storytelling for global audiences.

We’re super happy for Aleksandar’s thoughtful insight, attention to detail, and commitment to pushing our creative work to a higher standard, and can’t wait to share with you some new designs we’re working on with him.
