Are you aware that we're shopping in supermarkets in the same way our great-grandmothers did?

There are 280 BILLION shopper interactions with shelves in US supermarkets each year!

Over 9 billion of those interactions are unsuccessful, meaning that shoppers fail to find the right product for themselves.

There's a huge opportunity in improving shelf interactions, as shoppers are generally not able to fully utilize the assortment presented to them. Shelves are too big and complex, so most shoppers do not take the time to investigate, grabbing the usual stuff or something at a discount.

The supermarket shopping concept is more than 100 years old.

Despite the progress made in the last century, and especially in the last 20 years, we're still selecting products from the shelf as our great-grandmothers did.

Capturing value in billions of shopper interactions with shelves should be the next frontier for grocery retail.

What's your strategy for targeting right shoppers? Have you ever stopped to consider just how complex the act of shopping really is?

At Igigi Shopper's Assistant, we've analyzed a huge number of shopper interactions and sell-out data.
