Firestick Tune-up Service. $25
This offer is exclusive to Costa Rica.
TV4Ucr is offering Firestick reprogramming and tuneup service for folks in Costa Rica who don’t want to, or don’t feel capable of, maintaining their own device.
This includes:
- Deleting hidden files and bloatware to free up storage and improve performance
- Loading totally free TV apps with all major US and Canadian cable channels, worldwide sports and movies.
- Bypassing the Amazon Home Screen providing a cleaner simplified user interface while reducing advertising.
- Blocking Amazon operating system updates (optional, but recommended)
TV4Ucr is headed by a retired expat software developer living in Costa Rica for over 12 years with 7 years of Firestick experience.
The Firestick is a marvelous and powerful streaming device, but it’s packaged with a lot of bloatware - unnecessary, often unwanted or generally useless software that eats up storage and drags down performance. In addition many of the Amazon installed apps are useless to English speakers in Costa Rica because they default to Spanish.
Additionally, Amazon is moving toward limiting the freedom to load third party applications and modify the Firestick. Some features have already been restricted. Future versions will move to a proprietary operating system not compatible with Android applications. Amazon may or may not update your Firestick to this new operating system. We can block Amazon updates preserving your ability to use third party streaming apps without Amazon support.
If you’re happy with your Firestick or feel capable of maintaining it yourself, this service is not for you.
Note:
- TV apps do not include a TV Guide.
- Movies offered may not be the latest releases and may include advertising.
- Programs will not be 4K or UHD, but will generally be HD and occasionally SD.
TV4Ucr may offer a subscription service in the future that will have these features for a monthly fee. The monthly fee is necessary to pay software licensing and streaming provider service fees.
Here’s how the Tune-up service works.
1. Send us an email to [email protected]. Include any problems you are experiencing, what applications you are currently using, what your viewing interests are.
2. After review we will either provide you with our address for Correos shipping or ask for more info to determine if our service meets your needs.
3. Send your stick only. We do not need the remote, cable or power adapter.
4. After we receive your Firestick we will perform the service in 1 to 3 business days and you will be provided with payment information by your choice of CashApp, Sinpe or Zelle. The Tune-up will be completed in one business day. Correos normally takes 2-3 days each way. For those who don’t want to wait we can offer new, modified Firesticks.
5. The Firestick will be returned by Correos after payment is received.
6. If for any reason you are dissatisfied we will refund 100% of your payment upon your explanation of the problem or fix it with no additional charge.
