What is PCB testing?
Step 10: Testing
The PCB testing process is a critical quality control step in PCB manufacturing. It is used to verify whether the electrical performance of the circuit board meets design specifications. By using professional testing equipment, continuity, short circuits, open circuits, and impedance are thoroughly inspected to ensure each PCB delivers stable and reliable performance before shipment, reducing potential risks during assembly and end use.

What is flying probe testing?
Process 9:
PCB Flying Probe Test Process Introduction

Flying Probe Test is an electrical testing process in PCB manufacturing. It is mainly used to detect open circuits, short circuits, wrong connections, and missing connections, ensuring the reliability and stability of the finished circuit boards.

Working Principle

The flying probe tester uses multiple high-speed movable probes to contact PCB pads or test points directly. No dedicated test fixture is required. The system performs point-by-point electrical scanning and testing based on design data (Ge**er / Netlist) and automatically determines pass or fail results.

Process Features

No test fixture required, reducing tooling cost

Ideal for prototypes, small-batch, and high-mix production

High testing accuracy, suitable for fine-line PCBs

Flexible programming and fast turnaround

Main Test Items

Open circuits

Short circuits

Wrong or missing connections

Network connectivity issues

Application Scope

Prototype PCBs

Small-batch, multi-variety orders

High-density, HDI, fine-line circuit boards

Process Value

Flying probe testing is commonly used as a critical quality control step for semi-finished or finished PCBs. It effectively reduces defect rates without additional fixture costs and ensures stable and reliable product quality before shipment.

Step 8
What is PCB V-notching?

PCB V-notching (V-groove/V-creasing) is a technique that cuts a ‘V’-shaped groove along predefined separation lines on the PCB surface. This process enables sheet-form circuit boards to be separated easily and rapidly after production. It is widely employed in mass production and sheet-form PCB design.

What is a circuit board roasting board?
Process 7: PCB Routing (Depanelization) Introduction

Routing is the 7th process in PCB manufacturing, mainly used to separate large production panels into individual finished boards. Using CNC high-speed routers to precisely mill along the preset outline path, it ensures accurate dimensions, smooth edges, and minimal mechanical stress, making it especially suitable for complex shapes and precision boards. After processing, dimensional tolerance and edge quality are inspected to ensure the boards can smoothly enter subsequent assembly processes

What is text printing?
Step 6: PCB Silkscreen Printing

(Legend Printing)

PCB silkscreen printing, also known as legend printing, is the 6th key process in the PCB manufacturing workflow. This process is carried out after the solder mask process and involves printing text, symbols, and graphics onto the PCB surface to identify component locations, orientations, and circuit functions.
