Mother’s Day also brings to mind something we don’t always put into words.
The strength it takes to raise children while carrying the weight of work, home, and everything in between — that doesn’t always get the recognition it deserves. As a daughter watching my own mom, I see it more clearly now. But becoming a mother myself has been a different kind of teacher.
It’s one thing to admire the patience and resilience of mothers. It’s another to live it — to feel the quiet exhaustion, the endless coordination, the joy and guilt tangled together. I understand now that my own mother wasn't just strong. She was learning as she went, just like the rest of us.
That’s why my admiration isn’t just for what mothers do. It’s for who they are — steady, resilient, often uncelebrated, and still showing up.
To my own mom: thank you for every moment I didn’t see and everything you made possible. And to all the mothers reading this — including myself on the harder days — we’re doing something that can’t be summed up in a card.
Happy Mother’s Day 🌸 to every mother carrying more than the world will ever know.
