🇨🇳 Chinese Academy of Sciences: Pioneering Heterogeneous Quantum Communication Network
A research team led by Academician Guo Guangcan at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) has achieved a significant milestone by experimentally demonstrating the first fully heterogeneous quantum communication network.
• Core Innovation: The team introduced a software-defined networking approach and an “orchestration core” to automatically select quantum tasks, adapt communication protocols, and optimize system parameters.
• Network Architecture: The five-node network integrates nodes with different modulation schemes (polarization, time-phase, phase) and can handle multiple quantum tasks concurrently.
