My opinion on the distinction between entertainment microphones and professional :
Many people are asking, what microphone is good? Why do some wireless microphones cost one or two hundred, while others cost one or two thousand? Why do microphones worth hundreds of dollars sometimes have good sound quality, but microphones worth tens of thousands of dollars don’t sing well?
Today I will explain this problem clearly. Entertainment microphones mainly serve amateurs. Amateurs have not professionally practiced their voices. Most of their voices are flawed, and there is also insufficient air. They need large reverberation and delay, as well as excessive fat tones. Cover up the flawed voice and amateur singing skills of amateurs, so that you have the illusion that you have a good voice and good singing skills.
However, professional singers sing for a long time, and their voices are rounded and full. Of course, there are also congenital physical factors, acquired professional training, and experience in how to use microphones. Professional singers often enter the recording studio, and the condenser microphones and headphones in the recording studio are particular. The most important thing is to restore the timbre. You will clearly know your voice defects and where the breath is insufficient. After recording a song, you may have to sing it hundreds or thousands of times, deducting various details. Many professional singers sing live with monitor headphones or monitor speakers They don’t need reverberation, or only need a little bit. They have professional singing skills and want to know the details of their own voice clearly, so professional microphones are highly reductive and have details. Most of the conventional KTV microphones have rough voices without details. Exaggerated, the middle and high frequencies will be significantly increased to improve the brightness and transparency of the human voice.
