92 mm. 10,000 RPM. Industrial cooling, inside and out.

What does a high-speed industrial cooling fan look like inside?

Meet the SXDOOL SXD9238B24H-PWM: a 92 × 92 × 38 mm, 24V DC fan rated at 10,000 RPM, with dual ball bearings, a copper bearing tube, a riveted impeller assembly, and 4-wire FG/PWM.

Watch the real product and running footage alongside 3D views of its construction.

Planning airflow for a control cabinet, an EV charger power module, or compact power electronics? High static pressure matters when filters, heat sinks and restricted passages resist airflow. Select the fan against the system resistance and required operating airflow.

12V and 48V configurations can also be specified separately; the product shown is the 24V model.

A question we are asked often: if a rack is liquid-cooled, why does it still need fans?

Because the liquid loop is sized around the main heat sources. The rest of the board - power regulation, memory, storage and networking - is still cooled by air, and in a direct-to-chip design those parts did not go away. They simply stopped being the components with the largest heat sinks.

So the airflow requirement changes shape rather than disappearing. It becomes more focused: small, high-pressure blowers aimed at the areas the cold plates do not cover. A quieter, more deliberate air strategy, doing a job the loop was never designed to do.

Choosing an industrial cooling fan? Look beyond RPM.

The SXDOOL SXD8038B24H-PWM combines 24V PWM control, dual ball bearings, a copper center tube and a riveted impeller. Watch a real operating test alongside 3D assembly and airflow visualization.

The film explores cooling applications in AI data centers, EV charging equipment, industrial cabinets, electrical enclosures and liquid-cooling radiators. Match the fan to your system's airflow, pressure, electrical and environmental requirements.

Quantum computing is usually described as a physics problem. For anyone who has
to keep one running, it is also a thermal one - and not where you would expect.

The impressive part is the cold side. Superconducting qubits operate near 20 mK.
Deep space sits at about 2.7 K, so the chip is over a hundred times colder than
the void. The dilution refrigerator gets there in stages: pulse tube or
Gifford-McMahon cooling to 50 K, a cold head at 4 K, a Joule-Thomson 1 K pot, and
finally the still and mixing chamber at 10-15 mK where the quantum chip lives.

But none of that works without the warm side. Turbo-molecular and scroll pumps
run continuously to hold ultra-high vacuum, and they generate heat. The
compressors that give the dilution stage its lifting power need cooling. The
racks of FPGA-based controllers, microwave generators and cryo-amplifiers put out
kilowatts that must be removed from the laboratory, or the cryostat's ambient
environment stops being stable.

This is the part that gets under-specified. In a multi-million dollar facility,
the availability of the whole system rests on the reliability of relatively
ordinary components on the warm side - and on cooling that does not degrade over
years of continuous duty.

The coldest technology in the world runs on its hottest engineering.

Counterfeit bearings do not announce themselves — and you cannot see the bearing once it is inside a fan.

So inspect these four things before you buy instead:

1. Laser marking — genuine NMB bearings are precisely laser-etched. Counterfeits are blurred, unevenly spaced, or scratch off.
2. Shield design — genuine ZZ shields / RS seals sit perfectly flush. Loose shields or visible gaps are a red flag.
3. Rotation smoothness — turned by hand, a genuine bearing feels perfectly smooth. Any grittiness is a problem.
4. Documentation — ask for bearing authenticity records, not just a datasheet.

The cost of a counterfeit bearing is not the price difference. It is vibration, heat, and a lifespan that ends in a few thousand hours instead of the 70,000-hour rating the fan was sold on.

SXDOOL specifies genuine NMB double ball bearings as standard, with UL94V-0 PBT frames and IP68 options where the environment needs them.

Your cooling fan is emitting. The question is whether your instrument can tolerate it.

In semiconductor metrology, a stray magnetic field from a fan can deflect an electron beam enough to invalidate a measurement — and it will not look like a cooling problem. It will look like ghost images, drift, or corrupted data.

Two transmission paths:
· Conducted — PWM switching spikes travelling back into the shared power rail, disturbing ADCs and pre-amplifiers
· Radiated — broadband RF from motor commutation, plus charge build-up on the impeller

What actually reduces it:
1. Soft-switching drivers that ramp current instead of switching it instantly
2. Multi-stage LC filtering placed close to the switching elements, ferrite beads in the leads
3. Metallic shielding or metal-impregnated housings acting as a local Faraday cage
4. Bearings stable enough that rotation — and therefore current draw — never jitters

Plus four integration rules: separate power rails, twisted-pair leads, motor axis away from beam paths, and a PWM frequency that does not alias with your sampling rate.

Why a BOM should never be written from the "maximum airflow" figure.

Every fan curve has two ends:

- at zero flow, the fan develops its maximum static pressure but moves no air
- at zero pressure, it moves its maximum volume but develops no pressure

Free-air airflow - the number in the datasheet headline - is that second end. It is a real number and a useless one, because no enclosure is a zero-resistance system. Add the filter, the heatsink, the grille and the cable runs, and your fan slides down its own curve.

The airflow your design gets is where the fan curve meets the system impedance curve. That is the operating point, and that is the figure that belongs in the purchase decision.

Four practical checks before you release a fan spec:

1. Size for the clogged filter, not the clean one.
2. Allow for air density at working temperature, not at room temperature.
3. Keep the operating point out of the stall region.
4. Account for mutual back-pressure when fans share a plenum.

If the operating point is short, look for more static pressure at your required flow - not a bigger free-air number.

A redundant fan array is not a spare fan. It is a configuration.

N+1 means the array keeps the rack cool after a single fan failure — but only if three things are designed in: parallel fan behaviour (airflow adds, static pressure doesn't), a defence against backflow through a stopped fan, and bearings consistent enough that the fans don't fail together.

PWM lets the whole array run at reduced speed instead of running N at 100%. FG tachometer feedback turns emergency failover into scheduled maintenance.

A complete RFQ is what makes quotes comparable. Everything else is guesswork.

Four sections cover it: basic requirement, performance target, electrical and mechanical details, and commercial review.

The fields buyers skip most often are the ones that cost the most later — voltage, airflow and static pressure, and the connector and cable that confirm OEM assembly fit before samples.
