With the popularity of fingerprint locks, the market for fingerprint locks is chaotic, which increases the difficulty for customers to select fingerprint lock products. Let me introduce to you, as a smart lock freshman how to choose a suitable fingerprint lock from the perspective of materials:
1.Fingerprint head + electronic module
The fingerprint head is divided into an optical fingerprint head and a semiconductor identification fingerprint head. In today's market, most of optical fingerprint heads are used for office access control, and semiconductor access fingerprint heads are generally used for home access control.
So how do we choose a good fingerprint head?
Generally, we go to the market to select fingerprint lock products. We do not have very professional detection equipment to help us identify the quality of the product, so here I will teach you how to distinguish the difference between the quality of the fingerprint head through experiments.
After entering the fingerprint, unlock the lock by adjusting the different pressing positions of the finger. The test cycle is 5 times, and the test is performed in two cycles. If the fingerprint cannot be recognized if it appears less than or equal to once in a test cycle, then the fingerprint head is very sensitive. If the test result is more than one time, it is not recommended to select this product.
The cost of electronic modules is between 3-20 dollars. How do we judge the response speed and stability of electronic modules?
1). The time from fingerprint verification to unlocking can be verified by testing. It is recommended to select the time within 0.5-2 seconds.
2). Gently scan the password identification area with your palm. If there is no response, it is not recommended to purchase.
3). Quickly test the fingerprint lock setting interface. If the electronic module appears to be slow and stuck, it is not recommended to purchase.
2.Material of fingerprint lock housing
The fingerprint lock housings used in the market are generally divided into two types: metal and acrylic.
Metals are divided into: stainless steel, titanium alloy, aluminum-magnesium alloy, aluminum alloy, zinc alloy and copper, etc.
It is generally recommended to use metal material panels, which have good fire resistance, are not easily damaged by violence, and have strong anti-corrosion performance.
3.Clutch
Clutching plays a key role in fingerprint locks. It is the main tool for turning electronic signals into mechanical signals. Classified according to material, stainless steel clutch> zinc alloy clutch> plastic clutch.
In order to save costs, merchants may use spring components instead of clutch systems. Generally, customers are not recommended to choose fingerprint locks of this structure.
4.Lock cylinder
The material of the lock core is a pure copper lock core and a zinc alloy lock core. Fingerprint locks are recommended to use C-level lock cylinders, of which pure copper lock cylinders are better. It has the advantages of no rust, corrosion resistance and wear resistance.
5.Lock body
The most commonly used materials for the lock body are zinc alloy lock body and stainless steel lock body. The price of the two is very different. It is recommended to buy 304 stainless steel lock body in your own home.
6. Rear cover of lock body
Commonly used materials are iron and stainless steel. Stainless steel is recommended.
7. Rear lock pad
Generally, there are two types of silicone pads and PVC pads on the market, which have better performance than silicone pads. Of course, some businesses directly cancel this accessory in order to save costs.
8.Accessories and screws
The cost of these materials is not much different, but plays a key role. The lock body screws play a role of fixing and connecting the front and rear panels. If iron screws are used, it is easy to appear rust and silk.
In addition to the points on the material that we should pay attention to, there is also a crucial point to judge whether the structure of the fingerprint lock is reasonable and durable.
9. The clearance of the smart lock handle.
How to determine whether the handle of the fingerprint lock has a clearance? When the fingerprint lock is in the open state, gently press down the handle slowly and observe the change of the tongue of the finger lock body. If the distance of pressing down the handle is large and the lock tongue is still not retracted into the lock body, it means that the fingerprint lock has a large clearance. It is not recommended to buy a fingerprint lock with a large clearance.
Why is there a clearance?
The main reason for the clearance is because the clutch connector or the precision casting is not matched with the handle head. Generally, manufacturers with stricter quality requirements will control this gap to be about 0.5-1 silk meters. A stable connection can make the product more durable and will not fall off.
When you understand these issues, it can help you choose the right product for you.
