WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 stunned audiences with a spectacular, immersive stage built around sweeping LED displays, including a suspended LED ring at the center of the arena.

The opening and closing ceremonies of the 48th WorldSkills Competition celebrated the skills and achievements of 1,400 young champions from nearly 70 countries and regions. Hirender provided central media control for both its opening and closing ceremonies.

Twelve Hirender media servers powered the main LED displays, delivering 19 channels of 4K video output. The system also coordinated playback for eight moving vehicles during the opening ceremony.

With so many video outputs to manage, reliability was crucial. Hirender’s primary-backup mode allows a standby server to take over automatically if the active server goes offline or is removed, helping keep the production running without manual intervention.

Recently, this famous attraction in Guizhou, China has received an upgrade, turning the tunnel leading to a waterfall into an immersive journey through history, with Hirender supporting the visual experience.

Three Hirender media servers drive 32 projectors across the installation, bringing geological formations and dynamic lighting to the tunnel walls and ceiling.

The tunnel’s long, curved surfaces make projection mapping challenging. Using Hirender’s built-in functions, the technical team adapted the visuals to the tunnel’s geometry, keeping the imagery aligned across the space. Hirender’s Unattended operation also helps reduce manual intervention and routine maintenance demands, supporting the attraction’s daily operation.

Combining geological storytelling with large-scale projection and LED displays, the upgrade makes the journey to the waterfall a new part of the attraction itself.

Hirender runs high-resolution content across multiple outputs, keeping different display surfaces synchronized for a continuous visual experience. Its decoding and multi-channel output capabilities support stable playback of demanding content, even during long hours of operation.

For the projection areas, built-in geometry correction and edge blending help align multiple projectors into a continuous image, creating an immersive visual experience for the audience.

A historic palace in Datong, China has been transformed into the setting for a new immersive stage production that brings six centuries of local history into a contemporary theatrical experience.

The production combines live performance with projection, laser effects, mechanical stage systems, and aerial performance, turning the palace’s main hall into a 360° immersive theatre.

Hirender C Series manages the visual playback and control for the production, driving 17 2K projectors and two 2K LED screens. Timecode synchronization keeps the visuals, lighting, mechanical systems, and other stage equipment working together throughout the performance.

This July at the 48th session of UNESCO World Heritage Committee, Korea’s heritage took on a digital form at K-Heritage House in Busan.

Designed as an integrated cultural space, K-Heritage House brought together 45 exhibition and experiential booths to explore Korea’s heritage through media art, interactive content, and performances. Hirender supported media playback across the pavilion’s visual installations, while hecoos was used for previsualization of the pavilion.

Large screens and projection turned heritage sites and stories into visual and interactive experiences. Among them were media installations featuring the ancient petroglyphs of Bangucheon Stream, the changing seasons of Korea’s mountain temples, and an installation inspired by the 19th-century painting Gangsan Mujindo.

The media installations and interactive exhibitions became some of the pavilion’s most popular attractions, drawing particular attention from international visitors. Running from July 20–29 at BEXCO Exhibition Center, the pavillion has welcomed more than 137,000 visitors over the 10 days.
