"Your first impression will either keep or scare your target market.... do not give them any excuse to say "no" to your product/service" Nfor Thelma Ngwakfu
August 6th was another opportunity for Thelma and me to meet with 10 undergraduate students to whom we are offering one-on-one holistic mentorship. For us, it was a great honour to engage with them as a whole group physically after a whole year since we partied in celebration of their success in the GCE last year.
At our get-together, we discussed "Crafting an Outstanding Resume" as a way of preparing them for the endless opportunities that exist today worldwide, "Entrepreneurship: How students can provide for their basic needs" as a part of the economic empowerment that we encourage, and then ended with Daniel's case study from Daniel 1:1-8, focusing on the 8th verse which stressed on integrity.
We are (1) building a sustainable bridge over the horrific transition students face in Cameroon as they move from high school to university, (2) offering one-on-one academic coaching and follow-up, (3) following up for internship placements, and career/job readiness advising, (4) empowering and supporting them to make their own money to support for their basic needs especially at school. We should not bother solving society's problems when we are not making any effort to solve ours (5)moulding problem-solving outstanding young people, who will lead the future in a godly fashion.
Since what we do is project-based, I will be sharing some of the projects that some of our friends are working on.
Our get-together ended with food and juice, just the way we always end it.
We continue to look for ways through which we can improve the support that we offer these amazing young brains.
