New Publication: Building Digital Resilience and Rights in the Middle East

We are pleased to share that our Managing Director, Kamal Sedra, has contributed an article to WACC - Global’s Media Development journal, a respected international publication focused on communication rights and the future of digital governance.

The article explores current digital realities in the Middle East, from surveillance and cyber threats to AI-driven misinformation, and highlights how civil society and independent media are adapting despite shrinking space and limited resources. It also reflects on global policy processes such as WSIS+20 and the IGF, and their implications for the region.

At eduCYBER Sàrl, we believe that cybersecurity knowledge should be accessible to everyone, not just those who speak major languages.

When cybersecurity training and resources are available in local languages, communities become stronger and more resilient online.

As we mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month, we’re happy to share our reflections with the Coalition on Digital Impact (CODI) on why language matters in cybersecurity education.

Cyber incident reporting becomes mandatory in Switzerland as of today, October 1, 2025

Just two days ago, on September 29, 2025, the Swiss National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) published its six-month review of cyber incident reporting from critical infrastructure operators.

Key findings:
• 164 incidents reported since April.

• Finance, IT, and energy were the most affected sectors.

• Denial of Service (DoS), hacks, ransomware, and stolen credentials led the list.

And now, starting today, failure to report incidents can cost organizations up to CHF 100,000.

In our latest blog, we explain what this means for Swiss organizations, how it compares to international regulations such as the EU’s NIS2 Directive, the U.S. CIRCIA, and Australia’s SOCI Act, and why this is an opportunity to strengthen resilience.

Why the AI Safety Index 2025 Should Concern Every Privacy and Cybersecurity Professional

The Future of Life Institute (FLI)’s latest AI Safety Index reveals serious gaps in how leading AI companies address risk, governance, and privacy. As AI capabilities grow, so do the threats — not just hypothetical, but immediate and systemic.

We just published a short analysis on our blog that connects the dots between this new report and the urgent need for stronger cybersecurity and privacy safeguards across sectors.

Strengthening Cybersecurity Awareness in the UAE

Last week, eduCYBER Sàrl had the privilege of delivering impactful cybersecurity training sessions as part of the Human Rights Awareness Week 2024, organized by the The Geneva Centre for Human Rights Advancement and Global Dialogue (GCHRAGD).

The sessions, hosted by prestigious institutions; the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi and the Mohammed Bin Rashid MBR School of Government in Dubai, brought together participants from diverse backgrounds, including government officials, academic staff, employees, visiting students, and professors.

We explored key insights from the 2024 Cybersecurity Report, launched by the UAE Cybersecurity Council in partnership with CPX, focusing on:
-Emerging global and regional cybersecurity threats.
-Addressing phishing, social engineering, and AI-driven cyberattacks.
-Best practices for protecting devices, data, and sensitive projects.

At eduCYBER Sàrl, we are dedicated to empowering organizations through actionable knowledge and practical solutions to tackle modern cybersecurity challenges.

We extend our deepest thanks to GCHRAGD for organizing this significant event and to our hosts and participants for their active engagement.

We had the privilege of delivering CyberHygiene training to the dedicated team at Scale Link, USA, as part of the CyberPeace Builders initiative.

In the session, we focused on important topics such as phishing, social engineering, and online safety best practices. It was great to see the team's engagement and commitment to strengthening their cybersecurity skills.

Thank you to Scale Link for their participation and their strong commitment to ensuring online safety for their staff, partners, and customers' data, and to the CyberPeace Institute for facilitating this important collaboration.
