Hacker Attack on Aeroflot: Group Claims Full Takeover of IT Systems

On July 28, Aeroflot reported a major failure in its information systems, leading to the cancellation of 49 flights. The airline warned of further schedule disruptions and urged passengers to monitor updates.

The hacker group Silent Crow, in collaboration with Cyber Partisans BY, has claimed responsibility — stating they infiltrated Aeroflot’s corporate network for over a year, gradually expanding access until they reached Tier 0 — the core of the airline’s IT infrastructure.

Their claims include the extraction of the entire flight history database, a full compromise of critical corporate systems, and remote control over employee and executive-level workstations. The hackers describe the operation as deliberate and methodical. They say they will begin releasing part of the stolen data soon.

The scale and depth of this breach — if confirmed — marks one of the most extensive cyber intrusions into Russian aviation infrastructure to date.

Major hacktivist group taken down across 12 countries

On 15 July, law enforcement agencies from 12 nations—supported by Europol and Eurojust—dismantled NoName057(16), the pro-Russian hacktivist group behind a series of coordinated DDoS attacks on Europe’s critical infrastructure.
The group used a botnet of over 4,000 devices to target power grids, transport systems, and government services. More than 100 servers were shut down, and 7 arrest warrants were issued.

This is a clear reminder:
– DDoS attacks are no longer isolated events — they’re strategic, scalable, and disruptive
– Endpoint security remains a critical last line of defense

Most cybersecurity tools demand constant patching and upkeep. Abatis doesn’t.

We’re excited to share some important company news!

Abatis has entered into a strategic alliance with Quranium, a quantum-secure Layer 1 blockchain protocol built for the AI-Web3-Quantum era.
Through this partnership, Abatis’s patented, prevention-first endpoint protection will be integrated across Quranium’s infrastructure — including wallets, validator nodes, and transaction environments — addressing one of the most critical and often overlooked vulnerabilities in blockchain ecosystems: endpoint security.
With a sub-100KB footprint, real-time kernel-level enforcement, and full compatibility with both modern and legacy systems, Abatis delivers tamper-proof protection without compromising performance — even under high-throughput conditions.
Together, we’re setting a new benchmark for quantum-ready, enterprise-grade security in Web3.

12 million people in France affected by data leak

A large-scale cybersecurity breach has potentially exposed the personal data of 12 million people in France, with the stolen information now being sold on the dark web. The leak includes full names, phone numbers, email and home addresses, marital status, and even postal center details. The data is reportedly being sold for €10,000 in cryptocurrency, and an anonymous hacker has already released the details of 100,000 individuals for free to prove its authenticity.

While the exact source of the breach is unclear, experts suspect it may be linked to a government service or an insurance provider. This incident increases the risk of identity theft, phishing scams, and fraud, as cybercriminals can use this data for financial and social engineering attacks. Authorities are investigating the breach, but proactive security measures are the best defense against potential fraud.

17% of Employees Clicked on Phishing Links – Are Businesses Prepared?

A nationwide phishing exercise in Singapore revealed that 17% of more than 4,500 employees clicked on fraudulent links, exposing vulnerabilities in workplace cybersecurity. Even more concerning, only 5% reported the phishing attempt, significantly lower than the global industry average of 18%.

One of the key findings was that employees were most likely to fall for phishing emails disguised as internal communications. This suggests that businesses need to reinforce security awareness, particularly regarding emails that appear to come from within their own organizations. The study also found that SMEs and large corporations were equally susceptible to phishing attempts, emphasizing that company size does not determine cybersecurity readiness.

The results make one thing clear—businesses must step up cybersecurity training, tighten defenses, and build a culture of vigilance. With threats evolving fast, staying ahead means stronger awareness, smarter security, and quick action.

Medusa Ransomware Hits 300+ Critical Infrastructure Organizations

The Medusa ransomware gang has attacked over 300 organizations across healthcare, education, legal, insurance, technology, and manufacturing sectors, according to an advisory from the FBI, CISA, and MS-ISAC.

How Medusa Operates
- Active since June 2021, using phishing and unpatched vulnerabilities like ScreenConnect (CVE-2024-1709) and Fortinet (CVE-2023-48788).
- Operates as a ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) model, with affiliates paid up to $1 million.
- Engages in double and triple extortion—some victims were asked to pay twice for a decryptor.

Major Targets
- Minneapolis Public Schools (2023) – 100,000+ records leaked.
- Tonga, France, the Philippines – Government networks breached.
- Illinois, Texas – State and local agencies affected.
- Aurora, Colorado – Medusa’s attack claim was disputed by officials.

With Medusa’s aggressive tactics escalating, cybersecurity experts stress patching vulnerabilities, phishing awareness, and strong incident response as key defenses.

How can organizations better prepare? By choosing the right cybersecurity solution. Abatis safeguards businesses, reputation, and finances with a proven, breach-free security system. Ideal for critical infrastructure, it is centrally managed, fully configurable, and ensures cyber sovereignty, governance, and control.
