Liudmila Belousova, a Strategic development Director of De Beers, will deliver a speech on investments in diamonds nowadays while Igor Gordeev, Chief Commercial Officer of BitRiver will focus on investments in crypto mining in the age of digital economy.

Jan. 27 Igor Runets, founder and CEO of BitRiver, took part in a Russian parliament working session on the regulation and development of the mining industry and the cryptocurrency market. The participants strongly believe that the mining industry regulation will contribute to the economic growth in the regions where we are present due to a broader tax base and job creation for the local population.

The deployment of new large-scale mining data centers will stimulate the development of low-carbon electric power generation as well as energy-efficient network facilities, contributing to the efficient green digital energy transition of the Russian economy.

Corporate data centers like BitRiver, which are already responsible market participants contribute to smoothing the peaks of electricity consumption by acting as power system manoeuvre capacity, reducing the final price of electricity, CO² and other emissions. The interest of our international customers in BitRiver services in Russia keeps growing exponentially.

Dear clients,

on January 26, the Russian-Arab Business Council Forum within Expo 2020 Dubai completed successfully. The event was organized by Russian-Arab Business Council, the Union of Arab Chambers and the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Over 350 representatives from Russia and 17 Arab countries attended the Forum. BitRiver has achieved ambitious results in enhancing cooperation with its current and potential customers in data centers deployment, launch of our representative office UAE, exchanging experience and knowledge in the area of digital assets regulation and green cryptocurrency mining.

On January, 26 Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia has competitive advantages in the industry of crypto mining due to its highly qualified personnel in this area and the surplus of electricity.

Mr Putin asked the Government and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to reach a consensus decision on the cryptocurrency regulation in Russia and to report the results in the nearest future.

According to the President, the Bank of Russia should follow the path of technical progress.
It is to remind that Vladimir Putin has instructed the authorities to work out the regulation of the DFA (digital financial assets) as early as 2017.

To our mind, Russia has brilliant prospects today for the development of the crypto mining market and data management. Russia is able to become a world leader in the field of digital financial technologies in the background of impressive development of Russian green energy infrastructure and highly qualified personnel.

Dear colleagues, on 25, January Igor Runets, founder and CEO of BitRiver, has delivered a speech at Russian-Arab Business Council Forum within Expo 2020 Dubai. His topic “Data centers as digital economy point of growth” was of keen interest to our Russian and Middle East current and potential partners and customers.

According to Mr Runets:
👉 During the five years of operation BitRiver has created 300 MW production capacity.
👉 Five BitRiver data-centers are being built in Russia besides those eight which have been already functioning.
👉 The company’s portfolio will soon reach 1 GW in capacity.

Russia continues to successfully develop the data centers infrastructure, blockchain computation as well as big data processing. Digital green energy 🌱 is one of Russia’s competitive advantages which makes Russian crypto currency market grow at a high rate along with the economy and financial transactions growth.

Russian State Duma has created a working group on the issue of the cryptocurrency market legislative regulation. It will convey the stakeholders position to the President of Russia. The market participants position can take into consideration many options and approaches to the legislative regulation. The plans of banning the cryptocurrency possession by Russian citizens have been repeatedly announced by the Bank of Russia. However, the hard option adoption is unlikely to be taken and a constructive dialogue with market participants is expected to be built. Russia today has a real opportunity to become a world leader in digital financial technologies.

On January 25-26, 2022 BitRiver is attending the Forum of the Russian-Arab Business Council within the framework of the global exhibition EXPO 2020.

The event will be held with the support of the Union of Arab Chambers and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the UAE. The main agenda is to determine which steps need to be taken to accelerate Russian-Arab cooperation in the field of economy, trade and investment.

Russia to gain excellent prospects in crypto mining market development and data management

BitRiver does not operate in Kazakhstan, and the company work has not been affected by the events that have happened there. Kazakhstan is able to quickly regain the interest of the market participants in eco mining projects on its territory. However, it will be possible to speak about the realization of its potential once the political situation returns to normal.

According to our estimates, Kazakhstan ranks second in the world in the bitcoin production today with a global market share above 18%.

In a period of instability in a neighboring country, the market of production and digital financial assets circulation in Russia, including cryptocurrency, may become even more attractive and may continue to grow strongly.

These processes will be facilitated by the digital currency market improvement in parallel with the legislation harmonization and the green energy infrastructure development.

I would like to remind you that a total ban on mining by the authorities of neighboring China in early 2021 became a stimulus for Russia’s most popular cryptocurrency growth. Thus, the Chinese crypto farms began to look for other countries with relatively low-cost electrical generation to accommodate their capacity.

I strongly believe that cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan in the area of digital green energy will not be affected by the temporary internal instability.

I hope that the internal political situation in the country will stabilize as soon as possible, and that security will be provided for the entire Kazakh population and the economy.

We are pleased to share our latest news with you. On December, 23 BitRiver had a company party to celebrate the New Year coming. We had a very creative program as there are only talented people working in BitRiver. After communicating to each other we had a very original master-class on New Year cooking. Everything that had been cooked was eaten later by our employees. Afterwards, it was a possibility to appreciate different kinds of wines to guess which one it was.
The company party showed that our team is very tight-knit willing to generate new ideas. Happy New Year coming!
