Sonnenstube, fondato nel 2013, è un offspace itinerante di Lugano dedicato all’arte contemporanea e talvolta alla musica. Sonnenstube, che letteralmente significa “stanza soleggiata”, è un termine usato nell’area di lingua tedesca della Svizzera per descrivere il Canton Ticino. Il termine rappresenta un luogo di relax, tranquillo e idilliaco. Sonnenstube è infatti il punto di vista del turista di
passaggio, del “balabiott” della prima metà del XX secolo, o dei vari intellettuali, hippy e artisti nordici che hanno cercato qui il loro “altrove”. Occasionalmente presentiamo nel nostro bookshop alcune fanzine, edizioni limitate, riviste d’arte e nostre pubblicazioni. / Founded in 2013, Sonnenstube is an itinerant offspace based in Lugano, focused on contemporary art and sometimes music. Sonnenstube, which literally means “sunny room”, is a term used in the German speaking area of Switzerland to describe Canton Ticino. This word represents a place to relax, peaceful and idyllic. Sonnenstube is the point of view of the passing tourist, of the “balabiott” of the first half of the 20th century, or of the various intellectuals, hippies, and northern artists who looked here for their “elsewhere”. Occasionally we have a fanzine shop, with limited editions, art magazines and our publications.
