Along with the popular SpecPDM, SpecPage's suite of solutions includes the Supplier’s Guide. An essential first step in a data management supply chain, the SpecPage-hosted supplier portal is designed to eliminate a range of challenges, from food safety to data security and ease of specifications management.

The key to this software is that it provides a single space for collaboration between the active suppliers of a product without the headache of chasing information. The Supplier's Guide is a sure way to leverage dynamic data in a global network.

Across the globe, food and beverage manufacturers struggle with incorporating safety and compliance measures into their food labels. There are many changing legislative requirements to keep track of, which can make the road to a totally compliant product difficult. While challenging to navigate, these regulations help to ensure consumer satisfaction and trust.

SpecPage's system can help manufacturers stay on top of regulations to create compliant and attractive food labels.

Among the many challenges that companies face with labelling, "clean labels" are definitely one of them - especially when it comes to plant-based food. Though it seems a bit counterintuitive, even the healthiest food can come across as unhealthy if its label is not concise or clear. Consumers are fearful of labels that are long and wordy because they contain ingredients that they can't even begin to pronounce.

At the same time, food also faces significant legal restrictions as we saw recently with EU calling to ban the use of common dairy terms on plant-based packaging.

Visit the link to see some successful (and not so successful) examples of plant-based clean labels.

As sustainability becomes a more central topic in today's leading global discussions, it's important that the Food and Beverage industry joins the conversation as well. Particularly in regards to single-use plastic, there is much to say about food packaging - so much so, that we have decided to create a series of blogs that addresses how the industry is contributing to sustainable packaging practices.

Today's blog explains the background of why plastics can’t be recycled well, and introduces how F&B producers are proposing to fix it. Tune in later this week for "Part 2: Eliminating waste by eating it"!
