💡 Today, we want to recognize someone our customers rely on: Michal Binas!

Since January 2024, Michal has been a Senior Software Engineer at riwers-hub-weekly. For an international traffic technology company, he builds the platform that brings their devices online and keeps their software up to date over the air. He is currently the only developer on the system. The customer's top management saw it in June and liked it. Now they want to continue with Michal.

He has also built backend services for another long-term customer of ours. Last December, that customer sent him a Christmas present.

What I really appreciate about Michal is how he keeps things moving. When answers take time, he follows up until the next step is clear, and he starts on the features he knows the customer will need.

In his free time, Michal loves to travel through Europe in his caravan, and his easygoing mood comes along on every trip.

Michal, thank you for everything you build for our customers and for the good mood you bring to every call. Glad to have you at riwers-hub-weekly! 🏆️

Acht Jahre Riwers!

Eight years of Riwers! If we’re honest, it doesn’t feel like it at all. And when we reflect on the past eight years, what stands out most are the people who’ve walked this journey with us.

We remember the early projects, when everything was still handled at a single desk. We remember colleagues who’ve been with us for many years and know our systems better than any documentation could. And we remember the new faces who’ve joined us this year.

Today, we’re a team of more than 50 people across five locations, with over 300 completed projects. And there are a few things we’d do differently today.

But there are so many other things we’d do exactly the same way again!

The people we’re privileged to work with every day are what make Riwers who we are. And that’s why we’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you. Thank you to our team, our partners, and our clients - without whom we wouldn’t be where we are today.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here. Here’s to the next (at least 😉) eight years!

At Riwers, we’ve had a special tradition for several years: bringing our entire team together for a monthly company meeting.

We believe that everything happening within our company should be as transparent and accessible to our employees as possible. That’s why these meetings are an important part of our company culture.

During each meeting, we share the latest company updates, celebrate our achievements, discuss the projects we’re working on and the clients we collaborate with as a software development company.

But these meetings are about more than just numbers and updates. They help everyone see the bigger picture, understand the company’s direction, and recognize how their individual contributions support our shared goals. They also encourage open communication, strengthen trust across the team, and ensure that everyone feels informed and involved in our journey.

We believe that when people understand where the company is heading and how their work makes a difference, they become more motivated, and connected to the team.

Was dabei wichtiger geworden ist:
→ Wer gut spezifiziert, bekommt besseren Code.

Today, we’d like to share another customer project we’ve been working on at Riwers.

Temaron is a company from South Tyrol, Italy, creating digital experiences that make culture and heritage more accessible. Their experiences connect people with museums, cultural spaces and historical places, as well as with nature and hiking trails. Since autumn 2025, Riwers has been Temaron's technology and product partner, and we work on two products with them.

When we joined, Temaron already had a clear vision and first designs. We took over the full development and built the working product from there. Many Temaron experiences are live today, and the platform is expanding to more countries.

We built the second product from scratch, and here we started with much less. The Workspace was an early idea, with no validated requirements and no finished designs. So we did product discovery and prototyping first, then development. Now Temaron and its partners manage their experiences in one place, and it is easier for many people to work on the same project at once.

We set up the codebase and the development workflow for AI from day one. Speed alone would be risky. Clear project rules, automated tests and code reviews keep development fast and under control. Inside the Workspace, AI generates subtitles directly from a video's audio and translates content into several languages. That saves Temaron's team time in content production.

The people behind it:
Filip Papranec, senior full-stack developer, has led the technical architecture since the start. He also developed the Temaron web app that presents the experiences to visitors.

Matej Hliničan drives product and project management, and he uses AI in his product work as well.

The collaboration continues, and we keep developing both products as Temaron moves into new markets.

For us, Temaron shows why we bring product work and AI-native development into a project on the first day.

At a time when many IT companies are moving towards fully remote work, we believe there is still real value in creating an office environment where people genuinely enjoy spending time together.

At Riwers, we have our own traditions that bring the team together:
☕ Weekly company breakfasts.
🧘 Yoga sessions.
🥊 Boxing workouts.
☕ And, of course, coffee on the terrace.

For us, the office is not just a place to sit behind a laptop. It is a place to connect, exchange ideas, get to know each other better and enjoy being part of a team. We believe that great work comes not only from focus and expertise, but also from strong relationships, positive energy and a sense of belonging.

And we’re taking this idea even further. We’re currently organizing a table tennis tournament and would love to bring together teams not only from Riwers, but from other companies as well. Because why should team spirit stop at the office door? 🏓

Work takes up a significant part of our lives, so we want to create an environment where people can be productive, motivated and, most importantly, enjoy the journey together.
Company culture is not something that can simply be defined in a document. It is built through everyday interactions, shared experiences and small traditions that bring people together.

And these are exactly the things we are building at Riwers.

Who is actually behind Riwers? Today: Marco Dietrich, co-owner and COO.

Grew up in Singen am Hohentwiel, computer science degree from Konstanz just down the road. Then seven years in Winterthur, Switzerland. In 2012 his employer sent him to Bratislava to run their local office. It was planned as an assignment abroad. He is still here.

Since 2018 Marco has been co-owner of Riwers and leads our development center in Bratislava. Our Swiss colleagues work from Bern. As COO he takes care of people, projects and innovation. And innovation at Riwers currently means a lot of AI. We ran our own transformation on ourselves first, before recommending it to any customer.

Off work he likes sports, cycling and swimming above all, plus salsa dancing in earlier years. Nowadays it is mainly family. And of course work.

After 14 years in Slovakia he says: "I like it when it's a bit busy and we can change things."

Our team knows that taking a break is just as important for successfully delivering great projects as working hard. 💪

Each of us puts a lot of energy and dedication into our projects, which is why a strong company culture plays such an important role in bringing us together and keeping our team connected.

And last week, we had the perfect way to say goodbye to summer! ☀️

After the summer holidays, we finally got together again for our Summer Ending Party — and it was a great one! Good music from our DJ, delicious food, a relaxed atmosphere, lots of laughter, and most importantly, great company. 🥂

Now we’re coming back with fresh energy and even more motivation to tackle our projects and work hard together! 🚀

📅 Morgen, 8. September, 10:00 Uhr
