Few good words to make life better. Long time ago we started to experiment with typography, researching the most powerful and minimal way to convey a message in its purity of content and form. This is one of the many posters we designed, printed and ready to be hanged.

Alongside to the New Year paper card for the EPFL , the École Polytechnique Federalists de Lausanne, we designed also an animated version.

This time the holes of the building, designed by SANAA architects, are solid, interacting within each other in a playful way, dealing with gravity and magnetism.

We designed the New Year card for EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne), the most cosmopolitan of all European technical universities. Taking inspiration from its central building, designed by SANAA architects , this card is an homage to the use of paper and its sculptural and haptic qualities. A metaphoric journey into EPFL architecture where the organic shapes of the building, cut-out from the paper, creates unexpected overlap and surprising shadow effects.

JOHANNES & ALAN
A workshop of algorithmic typography

Designers Demian Conrad and Alex Dujet co-organised a workshop in technology-aided typography at the HEAD the Geneva University of Art and Design . The aim of the workshop was to use the synergies between analogue and digital in the production of lettering for prints which fell within the field of concrete poetry. It was a matter of determining how a composition made with an algorithm can affect the layout of a manual composition and how manual metal typesetting changes coding in graphic design.
