GO, LABOUR ON
With the world currently experiencing an economy downturn, the struggle to make ends meet has become so intense that most believers are too busy trying to meet up with different financial obligations, thereby losing sight of the Lord's command to: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15). Although the reality of our time is a great confrontation we are grappling with, we mustn't neglect the Great Commission. We must arise without delay, defy our current realities, and go labour in the field of souls without further delay.
The urgency to preach the Gospel is greater today than at any other time in history. This dispensation of grace is running out; and souls are dying around us, hastening into a Christ-less eternity. Statistics show that tens of thousands of people die daily; many of them are yet to be reached. Over 1.6 billion people have neither heard the Gospel preached to them, nor understood it. And the proportion of sinners to Christians is very high. We must arise and ‘go’, as the Lord commands, preaching everywhere sinners are found (Mark 16:20).
This command to ‘go’ is one that must doubtlessly take us outside the confines of our homes, comfort zones, and local churches to speak lost souls. Added to that, it should propel us into utilizing every possible means available—personal contacts, mass media and social media, telephone calls, text messages, prayer, and Christian works of literature—to reach the unsaved for Christ.
Remember, we are saved to serve; we are redeemed to reach out, and rescue others still sinking in their sins. It is our greatest task on earth; and it requires our highest obedience, commitment, faithfulness, and personal determination. We cannot afford to sit back, fold our arms, and watch on, as sinners slip into Hell unprepared. That will amount to disdaining the suffering of Christ to save them. We must arise and rescue the perishing, before it is too late.
Great danger looms, if we sit back, keep silent, or neglect to share the saving Gospel. Ripened harvest will be wasted; sinners blood will be required from us (Ezekiel 3:17-21;33:1-16). Also, answer to our prayers will be delayed or denied, and Jesus will be ashamed of us (Mark 8:38). However, if we do it willingly, we have both earthly and eternal rewards (Daniel 12:3; Proverbs 11:30). As you go labouring to win sinners for the Lord, you will not lose your rewards, in Jesus name.
