I love working with businesses to capture UGC-style content of their various products and services! (I’ve had the freeze pen done myself, and it worked like an absolute charm! 😍)

If your business needs a little social media boost- don’t be shy! Send me a little message and we can figure out how to document what you offer. :)

This CBDC-funded workshop is literally designed to take small business owners from 'I have no website' to 'my website is LIVE' in one afternoon.

No tech skills required. No big investment. Just you, your business, and your first published page by the end of the day.

User-generated content is one of the most underused tools in a small business's marketing toolkit β€” and I'm not just saying that.

UGC is real people, real experiences, real influence. No crazy ad budget, no polished studio, no agency needed. Just authentic content that makes someone think "okay, I need to try that."

I've been creating UGC as for a while now, and with 400K+ followers, I get to do something that genuinely lights me up: I walk into a local business, experience it for real, and tell people about it honestly.

No script that feels fake. No endorsement I don't believe in. Just me, showing up, sharing what I find... and watching it turn into foot traffic, bookings, and sales for small businesses who deserve more visibility.

The economic impact of that is real. When a small business in our region gets seen by the right people at the right time, that's not just a sale... that's a job protected, a family supported, a community strengthened.

That's why I'm proud to offer UGC as part of what I do. It sits at the exact intersection of what I love (genuine experiences, storytelling, small business advocacy) and what actually works.

If you're a small business owner wondering whether UGC could work for you.. it absolutely can. And it doesn't have to be complicated to be effective.

DM me if you want me to visit your business and share my thoughts with my audience :)

I just rolled over 5,000 followers on Facebook and 390,000 on Tiktok in the same day...

Facebook is the platform I used to keep completely private. Just for family and friends...Then TikTok happened.

Once your face is attached to millions of views, a locked-down page becomes a little pointless. The internet already knows you exist.

But since we're here, let me be honest about something nobody talks about enough:

A highly visible life is a very different life.

This week alone I was recognized in public at least five times. I was mid-shoot at an event when multiple wanted to have a full political debate with me. I had to smile, stay professional, and keep working like that wasn't completely surreal.

Dating is SO much harder. I could write novels about that. Men are mostly very intimidated by a highly visible partner. Countless men have wanted access to me for the (perceived) benefits, while never having what it takes to live the reality of it.

Very, very thankful to be dating someone currently who has never flinched when it comes to my highly visible life.

Socializing gets weird too, though. You never fully know if someone likes you or the version of you they built from your content. People almost always want something from you...There's a layer of performance that never fully turns off.

And it impacts my kids. When I talked seriously about stepping further into political commentary, my daughter told me she was scared I'd be murdered. She's not being dramatic. We already have cameras all over the property. The threats have been real.

That's the part of "going viral" that doesn't make the highlight reel.

I'm not saying this for sympathy... I chose this and I keep choosing it. But if you've ever wondered why some creators seem guarded or careful or tired, it's because visibility has a cost. Most of us are just paying it quietly.

Thank you for being here. All of you.

Happy Saturday, friends! β˜€οΈ

Can you feel it? That shift in the air when summer starts knocking? the ferry lineups, the "No Vacancy" signs going up, the lobster shacks dusting off the chalkboards.

Tourism season in Nova Scotia hits different, and it's one of my favourite times of year!

It's also the time when I start hearing from a lot of tourism-based businesses who are realizing their online presence isn't pulling its weight. The visitors are coming to the area β€” but their website isn't converting. The Google listing is incomplete. The bookings are still going through a third party that takes a cut they can't afford.

That's where I get to do what I love.

There's this moment (every single time!) when a client sees themselves showing up online in a way that actually moves the needle. Rankings climbing. Direct inquiries landing in their inbox. A website that finally looks as good as the experience they're selling. I can see it on their faces before they even say a word.

That's the ROI I work for. 😍

If you're heading into a busy summer season and your digital presence still isn't working as hard as you are... let's talk. You've built something worth finding. Let's make sure people can find it.

If you've been putting off your website because you don't know where to start, don't have the budget for a custom build, or just need someone to sit beside you and make it happen β€” this workshop is for you.

Press Publish is my CBDC-funded half-day workshop on June 9th, built for Nova Scotia small business owners who are ready to stop waiting and just get it done.

You'll walk in with nothing. You'll walk out with a live, published landing page β€” built on Showit, using one of my Scandalous Media templates, with a free month to keep going after.

No tech background needed. No design experience. Just you, your business info, and a few hours.

Your seat is fully covered through CBDC funding. DM me for the sign-up link, or reach out to your local CBDC office directly.

A while back I built a free quiz... not because it was part of some big content strategy, but because I kept auditing clients and seeing the same thing over and over again. πŸ€ͺ

Business owners spending money in the wrong places. Not because they were careless, but because nobody had ever shown them the order of operations.

So I mapped out the way I actually assess a business when a new client comes to me, turned it into 25 questions, and put it out there.

I honestly didn't know if anyone would care.

The response has genuinely caught me off guard. People are reaching out to tell me it finally gave them language for something they'd been feeling for months but couldn't name. That it helped them stop second-guessing themselves. That it saved them from signing a contract for a service they weren't even ready for yet.

That last one hits every time.

Because here's what most people don't talk about: small business owners are incredibly vulnerable when it comes to marketing. Most of us aren't trained marketers. We're just trying to figure it out while also running the actual business. And that puts us in a position where we have to trust people -- trust that the social media manager or the ad agency or the consultant actually knows what we need.

And sometimes they don't. Or sometimes the timing is just wrong.

What makes it so hard is that marketing is one of the most difficult services to untangle yourself from once you're in it. You've handed over your voice, your strategy, your budget. When it's not working, it's nearly impossible to know if the problem is the provider, the plan, or something more foundational. And switching means starting over -- losing time, losing momentum, sometimes losing money you really couldn't afford.

I built this assessment because I wanted people to have something that was just theirs. No sales pitch at the end... Just a clear look at where your business actually is, and where your energy will do the most good right now.

The fact that it's helping people? That's everything.

It's free. It's 5 minutes. Link in bio if you want to take it. :)

NOT-so-humble brag moment!

There are moments in a photographers career that stand out... and the fisheries minister using a photo I took as her facebook cover photo is one of them! lol

It was an honor to get to hang out with Chris d'Entremont and Joanne Thompson - St. John's East on Friday as they made their rounds connecting with the fishing community.

As a born-and-raised Cape Islander who has lived every angle of the industry (aside from actual fisherman lol- but the daughter, former wife, and mother of a fisherman) I was so pleased to see how much she seems to truly care, how well she listed to what the fishermen had to say, and how she really held space for everyones fears, concerns, and more. :)

Thankful to have had the opportunity!
