This project was starting to feel like “work” over the last couple weeks but seeing it pinned on the mannequin has me fired up and ready to finish strong with the back panel.

Still not done.
Irish lace takes the time it takes, and this duster is earning every stitch.
Progress update for anyone who loves watching a garment slowly turn into something worth keeping.

Just the back panel left to do.

What do you think so far?

Irish crochet lace duster progress, heirloom crochet garment, advanced lace techniques, handmade clothing build, slow fashion maker process, crochet artist progress reel, intricate lace construction, Lamrock Creative Irish lace, Nova Scotia crochet maker.

The duster is still under construction and making steady progress but I needed a little palette cleanser. So after a few videos popped up on my feed, I decided to try shuttle tatting.

Apparently I have a thing for dying fibre arts because this was exactly the shift I needed while engrossed in such a large project like the duster.

Matching lace gauntlets are for sure on my future project list!

Front panel: done.
This is my first time making anything like an Irish crochet duster, so every section feels like new territory. The front panel is the first part that actually looks like a garment, and seeing it come together is a huge relief. Update six, and I’m finally starting to believe I can pull this off.

Irish crochet lace duster update six. First time making an Irish lace garment. Front panel finished. Crochet artist Nova Scotia. Lamrock Creative Irish crochet project. Beginner Irish lace garment construction. Slow fashion handmade duster.

Because apparently the only thing holding me together is yarn tension and denial.

Honestly, I eat sleep and breathe crochet. I hopped back into it when my twin boys were only a couple months old. It was the only thing that kept me sane for those first 6 months and now it feels like it’s a fundamental part of who I am.

‘Omg you’re so talented’

Thanks, I haven’t done laundry in 3 weeks and this lace is the only thing holding my life together.

I sure am happy though 🥰🧶❤️
