At some point, caregiving touches all of us.

That’s why building a more connected, supportive care experience matters, not just for caregivers today, but for all of us.

A thought worth sharing from our co-founder, Bob Millar. 💜

Caregiving doesn’t show up on a paycheque, but it shows up everywhere else.

Canadians provide an estimated 5.7 billion hours of unpaid care every year that supports families, communities, and our healthcare system.

The Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence has highlighted the enormous economic and social value of this invisible workforce.

Caregiving may be unpaid, but its impact is anything but invisible.

1.8 million Canadians are part of the “sandwich generation.”

Caring for children and aging loved ones at the same time.

The Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence has highlighted the growing pressures facing caregivers who are balancing family responsibilities, work, and care.

For many, caregiving isn't one responsibility. It's another responsibility added to an already full life.

Caregiving and work often happen at the same time.

Most caregivers are women, and many are balancing their caregiving responsibilities alongside careers, families, and everything else life demands.

Caregiving doesn't always happen during work hours but its impact can follow people into the workplace and beyond.

It’s another reason why supporting caregivers means looking beyond the care itself and understanding the person providing it.

1 in 4 Canadians is a caregiver.

Supporting a family member, friend, or neighbour.

And the number of caregivers continues to grow. In Ontario alone, 4.2 million people are currently caregivers, a number expected to reach 6.5 million by 2030, according to the Ontario Caregiver Organization's Impact Report.

Caregiving is already a significant part of life for millions of Canadians and its role will only continue to grow.

Throwing it back to an important conversation.

This week, we're resharing a Forbes article that highlights a reality affecting millions of Canadians:

Nearly 13.4 million Canadians are providing unpaid care.

Caregiving doesn't always show up in workplace data, but it can have a very real impact on employees, families, and organizations.

As caregiving responsibilities continue to grow, it's a conversation worth continuing.

Dementia affects more than the person receiving a diagnosis. It affects entire families.

The World Health Organization reports that 57 million people worldwide are living with dementia, with nearly 10 million new cases each year.

And unpaid family caregivers account for about half of the global cost of dementia.

As the need for care grows, so does the need to better support the people providing it.
