We recently had the opportunity to visit one of our projects right here at home, nearing its final stages of construction, where our will soon be deployed. We’ve had the pleasure of teaming up with Operto, Togala Construction and Smart-tek Communications Inc. to deliver on an exceptional vision.
What truly sets this project apart is its role in shaping a new generation of accommodation. As Airbnb regulations start to roll out in our city, real estate investors are seeking responsible and sustainable approaches to incorporate short-term lodging into residential spaces.
In the aftermath of the pandemic, 30,000 sq. ft. of office space has remained vacant for over two years within building in Vancouver. An innovative concept lead to a rezoning application with the city with the intention of repurposing this space into a boutique hotel. The 36 room hotel itself will be run completely autonomously without any on-site staff, making it one of the first of its kind in Vancouver.
This shared hotel concept represents a forward-thinking approach to preserving tourism amidst increasing regulations within the hospitality industry. Not only does this provide a welcoming space for travellers, but also respects the integrity of local neighbourhoods. Allocating a dedicated section of the building for the hotel ensures that long-term residents can continue to carry out their daily routines, while simultaneously offering short-term guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant city life.
