ISO student assistant! Excited to annouce I'm hiring for 2022. This is an entry-level position for students at a canadian post secondary institution. Software and laptop loans available. Up to 30 flexible/remote hours a week $18-20/hr.

You'll be digitizing, archiving and otherwise prepping files for design production. As well as developing content for websites. Ideal for students who want to gain work experience in design or marketing.

Releasing this in light of Facebook going completely offline on Monday, taking down WhatsApp and Instagram with it. This is a teaser for the workshop I'm running tomorrow at 5pm with on blogging and self-publishing on platforms. Last chance to sign up! If you can't make it - this will also be in a larger webzine I'm releasing for this year's online which can be found at de.pub.

I'll be talking about how to publish online, what it means to use different publishing platforms, and how to publish/blog independently (or decentralized from social media). At this time, it's critical for those of us that work online to clearly understand the trade-offs between publishing a site on our own platforms/publications versus using proprietary software.

This is a site zine that includes a "screensaver" bookmark, neon stickers inspired by early internet found poetry as well as two fold-out spreads on the history of websites and website design. It's this month and until the 26th of August. Visit their website https://fanzineist.com/ to see all the exhibitors work in a virtual gallery space. I'm exhibiting my zine "this is a site: a website owners manual". “this is a site” focuses on structural aspects of site making, like buying a domain and building a foundation for your site. In 2020 we were forced to conduct ourselves online even more. This includes events, socializing and creativity. This is an introduction to some of the most common questions I get asked about site making to help you get started. Not to be confused with user experience (UX/UI) this book introduces websites in their most basic form, leaving space for makers to interpret the web for themselves.
