👀 WAS PAYMENT SENT OR DID THE MANAGER TAKE IT?

Comedian Donnell Rawlings recently spoke publicly about allegedly not being paid for a Toronto performance at Backroom Comedy Club.

But there’s another side circulating: claims that payment was made to a manager or representative, but allegedly never made its way to the talent.

So what actually happened?

Right now, we don’t know, and those claims have not been independently verified. But whether the venue never paid, payment went to an intermediary, or there’s more to the story, this situation highlights a much bigger issue in entertainment.

Who was responsible for payment? Who received it? When was it sent? And where is the record?

This is exactly why B-Agent is building a better way to book talent with clear contracts, secure payments and a transparent transaction record protecting both talent and organizers.

Because when one side says “I paid” and the other says “I wasn’t paid,” there should be a paper trail that answers the question.

And to Backroom Comedy Club, give us a shout. We’d love to work with you to help make sure a situation like this never happens again.

And to Donnell rawlings, from this side of the border, our apologies from Canada. 🇨🇦 Talent should be able to come here, perform, and leave knowing the business was handled properly.

We can do better. That’s why B-Agent exists.

Two sides of every booking. One platform. ⚡️

Talent needs more than exposure. Organizers need more than a list of names.

B-Agent AI is being built to bring both sides together.

For talent, that means a professional space to showcase who you are, get discovered, connect with organizers and turn opportunities into bookings.

For organizers, it means discovering the right talent, comparing profiles, reviewing rates and connecting without the guesswork.

One platform. A better booking experience.

We’re currently opening access to our private beta.

Toronto, we’re outside. 🎶🌅
B-Agent AI is excited to officially partner with ASAMBE for their next community session on August 15.
ASAMBE means “Let’s Go” 🇿🇦 and brings together Amapiano, good people and community in a laid-back outdoor setting. No big production. No complicated agenda. Just music, connection and culture.
This edition is bringing a little more to the table too 👀
🔥 Amapiano by the water
🔥 Fresh Suya
🎒 Back-to-School Drive
If you’re coming, you’re encouraged to bring a small school supply donation if you can. Pencils, notebooks, paper, backpacks or anything that can help a student start the school year prepared.
As B-Agent AI gets ready for our official rollout this September, partnerships like this represent exactly why we’re building this platform: to help talent, organizers and communities connect and create more opportunities together.
