FA Servers is looking for a Part Time Junior IT Support and Network Technician to join our team, with the goal of Transitioning to Full Time in the future. We are an IT support and consulting firm with clients ranging from small businesses to large enterprises. We specialize in providing turn-key solutions for all of our clients’ IT needs, including network design, implementation and end-user support.
Successful applicants will be based out of either our Milton or Toronto office and will be required to perform client visits on a regular basis throughout the Greater Toronto Area. As a result, all applicants must possess a valid Canadian driver's licence and have access to a personal vehicle or alternate mode of transit.
Technical Skills:
Installation, setup and troubleshooting of Windows 7, Server 2012R2 and higher
Troubleshooting of various computer and peripheral equipment including printers, scanners, etc.
Microsoft Active Directory with knowledge of AD based permissions
Windows Server configuration and maintenance of common services including DHCP, DNS, RRAS, etc.
Familiar with virtual machine environments especially ESXi and Hyper-V.
IP Networking knowledge including VLANs, VPNs, NAT and firewall configurations.
Personal Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills including oral and written communication
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Attention to detail
Tasks will include:
Design and implementation of network topology, and server systems
Systems wiring and cabling
Setup and configuration of networking equipment including routers, switches, and firewalls
Setup of server environments, including Windows & Unix based systems *
End-user support and troubleshooting of both hardware and software
Answering customer support calls and tickets
Logging relevant information within our ticketing platform *
Creation and maintenance of systems documentation and network diagrams
Preferred Extras:
Programming and/or scripting experience, Powershell and .NET preferred
Management of Office 365 and hybrid Exchange environments and Azure AD
Experience in IP Subnetting and IP Routing (OSPF, BGP)
Experience with Unix based operating systems, Ubuntu, CentOS, Proxmox etc.
Experience with Cisco, Ubiquiti, SonicWall, and or FortiNet Equipment.
Usage of legacy Windows platforms (XP, Vista, Server 2003, 2008, 2008R2)
Knowledge of VM replication topologies and practices
Experience in AD environments with more than one domain controller and AD replication
Experience with Windows Server clustering.
