Looking for Free but useful Anti-Virus on your Windows PC.
It can be annoying when you first get a PC you are inundated with "Bloatware" such as McAfee or Norton trying to convince you their System protection software is the one to get and to sign up for their services on an on-going basis. While their services are passable there are 3 solutions that I can suggest to the vast majority which will work just fine.
1) AVG - it's been around for ages but does have a free component which works well enough. it will ask you to move to their paid subscription, but you don't need to compromise on security - https://www.avg.com/en-ca/homepage
2) AVIRA - Same as AVG it's been around a while, and also has a paid component, but works just the same as the better known McAfee and Norton - https://www.avira.com/
3) Immunet - FREE! thats right you heard it it's completely free and open source. it may not be as flashy as the ones posted above but will get the job done about as well as the ones listed above. - https://www.immunet.com/index
