Owner-occupied board seat… confusing? It doesn’t have to be.

If 15% of units in your condo are owner-occupied, one board seat must be reserved for resident owners. That means:

• Only resident owners vote for that seat

• All owners vote for the rest of the board

• Most elections include two separate votes

This requirement helps ensure that those who live in the community have a direct voice in board decisions.

Learn how it works and what it means for your next AGM 👇

What is the purpose of the owner-occupied position, who can run, and how the voting process works.

For many property managers, burnout isn’t just about workload. It’s the expectation to always be available.

- Late-night board meetings
- Weekend messages
- “Quick” requests that never stop

Angel-Marie Reiner from Onyx Condo Management puts it simply:

→ Burnout isn’t a personal failing. It’s a systems problem.

Her advice? Build systems that actually support the way managers work.

“Virtual meetings and electronic voting aren’t just conveniences. They protect time and mental bandwidth.”

That’s where CondoVoter comes in.

→ When meetings and voting are fully managed and electronic, managers don’t have to chase proxies, worry about quorum, or commute to late-night meetings.

Want the full breakdown (including 6 practical ways to prevent burnout)? → Read it here:

Why burnout is so common in condo property management and what we can do about it.

We really appreciate it when clients take the time to share feedback like this.

Bill D., General Manager at Georgetown Park Condominium, shared this about working with our team:

“Over the past two years, Samuel has been instrumental in the success of our annual meetings… His communication, steady presence, and ability to navigate digital voting and live moderating have made a meaningful difference for our community.”

It’s feedback like this that reminds us why we do what we do.

Shoutout to Samuel, Account Manager at CondoVoter, for always showing up for our clients. And thank you to Georgetown Park for the trust. 🤍
