merch can either be a waste of money… or the most underrated tool for deepening your brand’s connection with your customers. The difference is how INTENTIONAL you’re with them.

You have to ask yourself “Would my customer actually love receiving this? Would they be proud to use it or show it off?” If it feels like a freebie destined for the junk drawer, you’re missing the point.

The best merch is an extension of your brand world. For Sew Gloria Designs, we looked into options they could think of when it comes to merch. We put their target customer in mind and looked into brands they follow, products they love buying (where my stationary hoarders at? 🙋🏾‍♀️🤣) , and what they’re already using. This was such a breeze to create because we understood their target customer a lot more and had a cool fresh identity that made designing gorgeouuus merch easier.

so think beyond just your services and products , how else can you remind them of you

This is the hill I’ll happily die on...

👉🏾Small brands don’t accidentally grow into legacy brands.
👉🏾 They stop showing up as just a product or service and start showing up as a brand with heart and purpose.

I’ve been obsessed lately with studying founders who’ve made that leap from “promising startup” to “oh my God, they’re everywhere now” 👀

And what I’ve discovered is that the shift isn’t about getting bigger. It’s about getting more intentional.

The thing that gets me most excited? THEY BOTH STARTED EXACTLY WHERE YOU ARE RIGHT NOW 😱

The shift you need to make is to put down the hat of a technician, designer, marketer, etc and put on your CEO or Founder blazer on.

👉🏾That’s how small brands grow with big brand energy … and that’s how they start building their legacy.

It is what it is, love. When your visual identity doesn’t match the quality of your work, people assume there’s a gap in your expertise too. It’s just psychology.

I can see you’re over here with years of experience, incredible results, and testimonials that would make people cry happy tears... but none of that matters if they can’t get past the visual noise to see it.

Think about the last time you almost didn’t click on something because it looked sketchy. Or when you immediately trusted a brand because everything felt cohesive and professional.

IT’S LAUNCH DAAYYYY!
- well, more like soft launch day since there are still a couple of things to finalise. 😅

I swear, we designers hide behind our “coming soon” pages and continue working on our websites for months and months JUST to ~secretly~ boost our designer ego. It’s like we design for other designers to see and not for our dream clients. The moment I realised this, I let go of fancy animations and transitions and just focused more on showing what I do best:

Bold, artistic and colourful branding for brands built on stories 💜

It’s what pushed me to rebrand. The previous website didn’t show a lot of me and more editorial stock photos because I thought that’s what sells. Until one day a business mentor asked me “why don’t I see the artistic side of you? Where are all the colours?” . 😮‍💨 this time around this website is something I’m actually proud of (and that’s hard to say as a perfectionist designer 😂)

Many many thanks to for my brand photos and vids , truly a gem to work with and to .photo for last minute edits. for such an engaging showreel and of course for improving my brand messaging and copy to sound so much like me 🥹💜 I couldn’t have done it without y’all
